Guest guest
Hello All and Happy New Year 2012! I have just received a delivery of Lugol's solution that I ordered from a website called Pet Drug On-line in UK. I am going to all this bother because it is just impossible to get Lugol's over the counter in France where I live. I thought I was buying J Crow Lugol's solution as sold in US and on amazon (and as per the picture on the website). But it has turned out to be Lugol's solution made by a company in UK that sells it to labs for testing. This is the company. http://www.eurolabsupplies.co.uk/about.php This company says that the Lugol's iodine they supply is intended for laboratory use only and is used in staining of bacteria for microscopy. Also that the product is not manufactured under pharmaceutical conditions and is not intended for human consumption. Some of this is probably **** covering but can anybody here say why I should not take this stuff? Is it any different from what used to be available in a chemist? Or what you can buy on amazon? MacG. Guest guest
,My GUESS is that even for laboratory use it would be made with good ingredients, or they would risk contaminating what they wanted to view. Does that make sense? I have Lugol’s iodine I got from a school supply that said the same thing.
