Guest guest
I buy my Lugol Iodine from here: http://bobbys-healthy-shop.co.uk/search.php They are based in the UK but post to most place around the world. I currently use the 7% solution to try and treat ver high levels of both intestinal candida and SIBO which gives me the joy of daily IBS-Diahrrea and all the other pleasant symptoms that accompany it. I'm on day 13 and am up to 5 drops, twice a day. Although it's still early days, I think it may have slowed down the 'D problem a little. I don't want to jinxs things by saying that things are a little better but fingers crossed things will continue to improve. I am also taking l-glutamine with bentonite clay and a few natural antifungals with the hope of clearing and scraping out the toxins from the intestinal lining. I shall keep you all posted. Guest guest
It's the DEA that messed us up. They are trying to "control" the drug makers as iodine is used in crystal meth production. Guest guest
I just ordered a 100ml bottle of Lugol's 5% from here http://www.cansospagroup.com/catalog/item/7824662/8378603.htm. They're in Canada, so I'm having to pay for shipping on top of the $22. But 100 ml is about 3 oz, so overall much cheaper than the 1oz bottles I've been finding online.I haven't gotten it yet, so can't attest to how great it is or not, but thought I'd mention it.AngieOn Jan 6, 2012, at 8:36 AM, Buist, ND HC wrote: That is because they sell in larger bottles than is allowed by the DEA w/o a prescription. Guest guest
Typically, they mix in some not-so-true with the facts. There is no need to add vinegar to the water with Lugol's. It's also expensive, relatively. But if this is the only source for those in the UK, it's good they are there. - moderator > > Here's a better link with more background on Iodine: > > http://www.bobbyshealthyshop.co.uk/Lugols-Iodine.php > > > > > From: Fisher <fsni1160@...> > " iodine " <iodine > > Sent: Friday, January 6, 2012 2:22 PM > Subject: Re: What??? Guest guest
I made my own very easily. The email has a video (real cool) that shows how easy it is to make it and gives you the links of where to order it. The 44Gram bottle is small but is all you need with the other ingredient I think 88 Grams to make 32 oz of lugols after adding the distilled water which is 83 cents at Walmart. It cost me less then $50.00 without a doctors script and I saved like over $400.00 instead of paying 13.00 to 24.00 for 1 oz. I got 32oz made and it will last me at least a year or more. Rae See below Making Lugols - Iodine Video, Recipe, Sources and ExpenseTO: 1 recipientShow DetailsMessage bodyI thought I'd share this with others who are also interested in DIY Iodine.I found this video on how to make Lugols Iodine on youtube...........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3W8SjmA4qwThen I went to the ebay side recommended by and found the 2 ingredients needed:1) 45g pure elemental iodine crystals (the recipe calls for 44 grams) $24.95 plus $2.22 for S & Hhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/45g-pure-elemental-iodine-crystals-/280731875297?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & hash=item415cec77e12) Pure granular ACS grade potassium iodide, 4 0z. $22.50 plus $2.64 (the recipe calls for 88 grams)http://www.ebay.com/itm/4oz-114g-potassium-iodide-ACS-grade-/280651699034?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & hash=item415825135aThe recipe indicated that you need a QUART jar .... so in the end you will have approx a quart of (more or less) 5 - 7 % Lugols Iodine which is equal to 32 ounces. The costs for 32 ounces of this strength would be $24.95 and $22.50 PLUS $$2.22 and $ $2.64 for Shipping and Handling (unless he combines and discounts S & H)for a maximum total of $52.31 unless he adds taxdivided by 32 ounces ends up costing $1.64 per ounce of 5 - 7 % strength Lugol'sSource for BOTTLES (and perhaps the ingredients, later on)This is the gentleman (Bill) on ebay from whom I ordered my bottles. He is super fast, professional, reliable, compassionate and wants you to be pleased with your order. When I first ordered from Bill, pointed out that my bottles had 'plastic' droppers. This was my mistake, as I had not noticed it in the description and to be honest, didn't even know to get glass instead of plastic. When I asked Bill if he had some glass inserts that he could sell me, (to replace the plastic ones I, now, had) he replied 'no' but I will order some and mail them to you .... no charge. He would not even let me pay for the shipping. So........ this is a really 'classy' guy!!!http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amber-Glass-Dropper-Bottles-2-oz-16-bx-/290608294935?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & hash=item43a99aac17He put this 'lot' together especially for me when I told him that I needed (16) 2 oz bottles for my 32 ounces of iodineI'd be making.Bill now offers both plastic AND glass droppers .....so, you need to indicate that you would like the 'glass' droppers. His price for each 2 oz bottle comes out to $1.36 per. I also asked him if he could sell us the ingredients. He has put in anapplication with the authorities and is awaiting approval. He says the process seems to be lengthy and not easy.______________________________________________________These recipes are from /Israel:I make my own Lugol's original formula (5%). 85ml distilled water mixed with 10g postassium iodide (KI), then add 5g iodine crystals(I). It will need to set in a covered container to allow all the crystals to dissolve.Dose equivalent is 6.25mg/drop (vertical) when the iodine is in solution. You will need a scale to measure with. Water weighs one gram/ml. Storage period is indefinite with a properly sealed glass bottle. Rubber stoppered bottles typically deteriorate within a year.========================Formula to make 5% Lugol's iodine one ounce batch:2.84g KI1.42g I24.14ml HOH=========================Here is the method for making 5% Lugol's iodine (6.25 mg/drop) in a nutshell:1. Obtain a clean, empty 1 quart container (with lid)2. Fill about halfway with distilled water (RO water is also okay)3. Put in 44 grams of elemental iodine crystal (you need a scale) My scale was so small I had to put the crystals on a thin sheet of paper and then on the scale ... the crystals started to discolor the sheet .... so you might want to think of the way you're going to do this. I don't know if the paper contaminated my iodine or vice-versa4. Stir with non-metal spoon (wood is okay).5. Put in 88 grams of potassium iodide, and stir some more.6. Fill jar to about 80% of capacity with distilled water.7. Let it set overnight. If cap is metal, put waxed paper between it and the jar; iodine attacks metal.8. The next day, it is ready for use. For me, the next day still had crystals that were pretty bigand had not totally dissolved. I checked with and she said it was fine to go ahead and drink and thatthe crystals actually take more than a few days to dissolve completely ... sure enough .... some days later, no more crystals! Guest guest
, when I was a kid, (I'm 60 now) I remember my grandfather had some hi-octane iodine that he would use on skin tags, liver spots and the like. Guest guest
Tony the Herbalist says to fill up to the three-quarter level. So, you will have 8 ounces less than a quart or 24 ounces. It is more than enough Lugol's for over three years at 100mg a day intake. I made some the other day, took less than 10 minutes. This is the way to go as far as I am concerned. I give the wife Iodoral mostly but at night I give her a couple ounces of water with her LDN (one mg), Biosil (10 drops), and Lugol's 2.2%(10 drops) all mixed together. She tolerates high dosage iodine a lot better than me. I got bromoderma but nothing serious and it is waning. I figure it'll clear up sooner or later. I've been on the high dosage iodine protocol for six months now and have experienced several really nice health effects from it, although it hasn't been a linear experience by any means. The main thing is to stick with it while making adjustments to the companion supplements. I had to double my intake of C (now 6gm) and magnesium (1gm) to get the bromoderma to calm down. {I suppose I could have tried the pulse method (5 days on, two off) of 's but never tried it.} Peace and gratitude, Dean ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > > >>That is because they sell in larger bottles than is allowed by the DEA w/o a prescription. I think you can only sell 1 oz 5% solution w/o a prescription. Their bottles are made up in their office and you get a prescription written for the dispensing amount. > >> > >> > >> > >> > >>----- Original Message ----- > >>>From: teddy > >>>iodine > >>>Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 1:59 PM > >>>Subject: What??? Guest guest
Here they are. Do yourself a favor and watch the short video. He is cool. RaeFrom: jcd in es <jcdines@...>iodine Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2011 12:08 AMSubject: Making Lugols - Iodine Video, Recipe, Sources and Expense I thought I'd share this with others who are also interested in DIY Iodine.I found this video on how to make Lugols Iodine on youtube...........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3W8SjmA4qwThen I went to the ebay side recommended by and found the 2 ingredients needed:1) 45g pure elemental iodine crystals (the recipe calls for 44 grams) $24.95 plus $2.22 for S & Hhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/45g-pure-elemental-iodine-crystals-/280731875297?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & hash=item415cec77e12) Pure granular ACS grade potassium iodide, 4 0z. Guest guest
If you click on the Lugol's More Information button, you'll see it comes in three versions: 2oz, 4oz, and a Make it Yourself Mixture. I haven't ordered from there, but was just looking at it. I just ordered mine from the_full_orchestra about a week ago. Even with shipping to Canada, it still works out cheaper to order from eBay. I think with shipping and exchange rate, it came to about C$60 to make the 32oz (not counting the bottles I bought). It hasn't come in yet, so we'll see if I get zinged with duty or tax. The tax I'd have to pay for sure if I ordered through a Canadian company. in NS, Canada At 01:59 AM 08/01/12, you wrote: I sent you my site where I get my stuff to make lugol's but also went to the site you sent me and could not see where I would order the crystals and iodine potassium. Guest guest
Yes, that's the place. If you phone them you can order the crystals to make it yourself. Don't know why that's not on the website. I can't remember the cost, but it's cheaper than buying it made up and you get enough to last a family almost a year, depending on how much you use, of course.
