Hi Lynn,

Yes, it is totally fine to start at 50 mg of iodine again. Many people start off with 50 mg as their starting dose.

Rt3 is most often the result of a toxic liver. Are you taking dandelion, milk thistle or any other materials to help cleanse the liver? Organic carrot juice is wonderful for helping the liver detoxify, as are coffee enemas.

Kind regards,

off iodine for several days

I started taking Idoral the first of September and have been on 50 mg since November 1st. I quit taking it a week ago because I switched from synthroid to Armour and suddenly felt hyper and horrible. I'm now starting Cytomel only - due to high Rt3 - and am feeling better. My blood glucose just dropped from a fasting reading of consistently 96-104 to 70 all the time (not sure why). After being off of iodine for one week, can I start on 50 mg again? Will this affect how I feel? It never has and I also take all the supplements. Thanks so much!Lynn

Yes you can. You never know how it will make you feel.

On another note - odds are you felt like you were hyper on Armour because you have adrenal issues. Or the other issue could be the Armour. When they reformulated many of us (myself included) felt hyper - pounding heart, headaches, "racy" feeling. So it may just be the brand. I switched to Nature-throid. I feel better.

If you have RT3 issues then the Cytomel is only covering up the issue. The issue is usually related to one of 3 things. Poor diet, high cortisol and / or liver toxicity (congestion).
