Guest guest
Are you taking the companion nutrients? These are very important when taking iodine . You can try the Salt Loading Protocol to help with this symptom. Directions for the protocol are in the Guide to Supplementing with Iodine in our Files. This happens sometimes when the thyroid swells up a bit to capture the iodine, it is nothing to worry about and with the companion nutrients as well as salt loading if needed, this feeling should subside soon. Best, -kathleen moderator Lugol's 5% for bacteria I have been taking Iodoral (50 mg. per day) as well as 5 ATP cofactors a day for about a year. I just completed a stool test and found the following bacteria: Klebsiella pneumoniae and Enterobacter cloacae. I started taking a couple of drops of Lugol's to help get rid of the bacteria, along with the iodoral, and now my throat feels swollen and tight. I did not have that sensation just taking the Lugol's. Any ideas why this might be happening, and is there anything else that I could add so I don't get that sensation? Guest guest
Hi Tom,You have raised the amount of iodine you are taking each day, and so that can be the level at which you started detoxing, or started again. We often hear reports of detox symptoms upon raising levels of iodine. Make sure you are taking the other companion nutrients, and salt load, and hopefully it will pass soon. Guest guest
Hi there Tom: I too had a stool test done 4 years ago and there was lots of Pathogenic Bacteria, Staph & Strep (the doctor said they were dangerous and could LEAK through the holes in the intestinal walls) and I knew because of that and possibly also being inside my stomach, I started off with the LIQUID LUGOL’S. I wanted to kill all those buggers, wherever they lived. I wanted to get INSIDE every nook and cranny. I don’t think taking Iodoral would have worked as well as the Liquid for me in that regard. I knew I had bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) because I had so much nausea after eating. Also people that are older and don’t have as much Stomach Acid can also get a bacterial load. So first thing in the morning I would take 16 drops of Lugol’s 5% ON AN EMPTY STOMACH and didn’t eat for another 3 or more hours. And boy within 3 weeks things were starting to improve. At 8 weeks, I was able to GO OFF my Diabetes Meds. I’m still only using the Lugol’s as I have a Motility Disorder and food sits way too long and ferments, so the liquid is the best choice for me. Guest guest
Yes, we're quite certain iodine does not harm probiotics. If you are that reactive to iodine, it means you are highly toxic with bromides and need to do quite a lot of work on your detoxification pathways in order to get your body better able to get rid of the bromides that become free in your bloodstream when you take iodine. It's not a sign you don't need iodine, it's a sign you desperately do need it. The boils are bromide acne. -- On 18 Jan 2012 at 7:01, psych doc wrote: > > > > Bonnie: > Thats a great mail you have posted!!! You really get that much benefit > from liquid Lugol's? Guest guest
Hi, in my case I was getting large eruptions on my upper thighs that quickly developed into painful ulcerations which did not fully resolve with antibiotics. I was at that time painting Lugol's on my belly. I was already having most of my water fluorine and chlorine free (lots of coffee though) and cut back on wheat products. So I started one iodine drop/day in water in desperation - and it worked! Then I found my way here. I have worked my way up to two drops and expect to start on three drops in February, and I am having the companion nutrients, but not yet in the recommended quantities.
