TSH Low, Antibodies elevated

Hi,

I have been taking iodine 50 mg since March 2011. In April my TSH was normal, my

T4 was normal, and my T3 was low. The results of my thyroid antibodies were

negative. I have had this rechecked every 3 months and my Antibodies are going

up. My TPO is now showing that it is elevated above range and my TSH is low. The

T3 and T4 are normal. I am taking all supportive nutrients. I have been gluten

free for about 4 months.

Does anybody now what may cause my Antibodies to continue to go up?

Antibodies can vary each and every time you test. What kind of numbers are you

talking about?

The increase in thyroglobulin indicates that the body is being stimulated to capture more iodine. Your TPO Ab are not significantly more than they were in April. How much Iodine are you on and what supplements are you taking?

I take 50mg iodoral daily. I have taken this since March 2011.

I also take vit c 2000mg, Multivitamin with selenium 210 mcg, Magnesium chelated

200 mg twice daily, atp cofactor, vit d 2000 iu daily, omega 3's, vit e 800 iu

daily, dhea 5mg daily.

I also take compounded t3/t4 (from armour)one grain. My last test results showed

my tsh low and my doc thinks my dosage may be to high.

It has been in the normal range since April 2011.

This shows positive TPO antibodies each time with a small decrease in Sept.

This is barely a difference at all and hardly over the range, I wouldn't worry.

The TPO was in range in April 2011 and has gone up each time.

The range for April is .0-60.0.

I think if you check, the TPO range s/b 35, the same as the other tests. It's

not a marked difference, itt's normal for small differences on repeated tests.

If it were hundreds or thousands of points difference, then I'd be concerned.

Thank you! It has me worried that it keeps going up. I am going to have it

checked again in April.
