There is no such thing as " too much iodine " in that whatever your body can't use

is

washed harmlessly out in the urine. However, you may be having bromide

detoxification symptoms, which can include fatigue. How long have you been

taking

the iodine? You might want to back down a bit so that you are not detoxing too

fast,

which is what leads to the symptoms.

Please read the Guide to Supplementing that you received when you joined this

list,

or you can find it on the group website (use " visit your group " link at end of

this email).

It discusses detox.

Also, making massive dietary changes can affect one's energy. How long have you

been on the raw food diet, and how long on the iodine?

Hello

Hmm interesting. I have been taking iodine for a few weeks now, and i started to

think about it that it seems to have started when i started the drops.

I have been on raw food for 10 months so its not that :)

I would also suspect your raw foo diet may be part of the problem. If you have

adrenal fatigue, it will make it worse as you are not eating any protein in the

form of animal sources. This happened to me when I was doing raw food and my

doctor told me that my adrenals would not heal unless I ate animal protein.

Once I resume eating organic meats I felt better over time and my hair stopped

falling out. No more shaky/fatigued muscles.

I agree with Laurie. A couple of decades back I tried the diet that only has fruit before lunch and veggies and protein afterwards and I had those same symptoms and I felt much worse on it. I feel much better on animal protein and vegies, and small amounts of fruit. So I feel it may not be the iodine causing your symptoms either.Fiona From: koonk <dalilah61@...> To:

Ok thanx.

But what should i expect from the iodine then. I havent noticed anything in

terms of body temperature etc. How long did it take for some of you guys to reap

the benefits of iodine and how big was your dosages and what problems did you

have prior to the treatment?

If you're weakened because of your diet, it will be harder to get benefits from

iodine

because you're coming from a bigger deficit. Or, because of your weakened state

you may not notice small improvements. I still think that you're probably

taking more

iodine than your body can process the detox byproducts. Again, if you're in a

weakened state and not getting adequate nutrition, it will be harder for your

body to

deal with the detox byproducts-- it requires energy to detox the body.

Everyone is individual in terms of their timeline, so asking other people about

their

timeline isn't really very helpful. Within 3 months I was a lot lot better, AS

I ALREADY

WROTE. But I was only taking 50mg. When I tried to go higher than that I had

massive detox. So I've just been soaking my dose and letting health develop.

It seems like you're not hearing what you want to hear, so you're not listening

to what

we're saying. You're taking more iodine than your body can process the

resulting

detox byproducts so you're having detox symptoms, and your diet isn't adequate

to

your energy needs. And, you probably have adrenal exhaustion which needs

adequate diet, and additional unrefined salt, Vit E, and more Vit C. Possibly

adrenal

hormone support.

There is no single perfect diet for all humans. We are all individual and have

different

needs. So you can't just sign up for some random diet because someone claims

it

is the one perfect diet and expect it to work for you, just because someone said

it

would. One of the most important concepts I learned in the late 1970s at San

Francisco State studying Orthomolecular Dietary Therapy is that of " Lunch

Righteousness " , or, the tendency of people to prescribe a universal diet based

on

ideological beliefs.

I'm not saying people can't successfully be vegetarians, but it requires

attention to

make sure you're getting a balanced diet. And I really think the raw fad is a

fad. Any

time you have ideology determining diet (and this faith in raw is an ideology),

you're

going to make mistakes. Not everyone can thrive on that type of diet. I love

raw

foods, dehydrated crackers and all that-- I make a mean nori roll with sprouted

nuts

and the resulting nutmilk is heavenly. But it's not my only form of food.

Take this or leave it, but what people are saying is true. Your diet is not

adequate to

the detox that the high amount of iodine you're doing is producing. And, the

stress on

your body is most likely exacerbating adrenal exhaustion.

I think its common when people begin taking Iodine to first feel exhausted and

to fatigue easily. This happens for a few weeks. It has sometihg to do with the

body working overtime eliminating 'the bad bugs'. Just continue onward and after

a while you will begin to have more energy. There is light at the end of the

tunnel. from a cold but beautiful Columbus Ohio
