Ric:

You’re

just like most men that I know, that try something new, something they

know very little about, they go Gung Ho without any regard for where it is

taking them. My GUT was not nearly as bad as yours and for as long as

yours either. So by 3 weeks and taking 3 drops daily I began to see some

digestion improvements and I wrote it my journal, so that I could share it with

others.

You said that

you’ve had this problem for 15 years or so, is that right? Well,

don’t expect big changes in 3 weeks Ric. It’s not going to

happen.

I suggested you

go slowly and take notes but you ignored that. You could even COUNT the

BM’s you have each day to see if they get to be less and less. Put

that on the calendar each time you go and when you look back, I’m sure

you’ll see improvements.

If you NOTICE

small changes, then you will be encouraged.

I also

suggested that you CONCENTRATE on the Iodine and give up the other modalities

just for now, but that’s not going to happen I guess.

Don’t get

distracted by other things you want to try. How’re you going to know what’s

working if you’re doing 5 different things at once? Let the Iodine do the

job and get your GUT HEALTHY before you bring in something else. How do

you know that Colloidal Silver and/or Hydrogen Peroxide (and who knows what

else) will interfere with the Iodine and the job it was designed to do?

You don’t know, right?

Also stay away

from sugar and dairy as these stimulate your bowels even more. Also LOTS

OF FIBER right now is not a good idea. Have you looked into going

Gluten-Free? That may make a big difference.

Take your

Iodine on an empty stomach (like I did) and do it 2 or 3 times a day, so that

the bacteria will be killed off SLOWLY and consistently and steadily as it is

weakened but this takes time, when you’ve been sick so long.

Hang in there

and we’ll soon hear that you’re now only having 5 BM’s per

day and then 2 BM’s per day until you are normal and that will happen.

BE PATIENT.

Hi

Bonnie,

I can't say

I've seen any huge benefit in my digestion at the moment unfortunately. I still

need to go very frequently during the day. My stomach still feels weak and

sensitive.

As you say,

it might be early days. I tend to add an extra drop every 4 days or so. I

haven't gone overly slow with the protocol like adding one drop a week like you

suggested but nor have I just shot up to 20 drops in one go either. Either way,

I'm going to stick to this for a good while longer. Iodine is quite easy to

take and doesn't taste that bad. Unlike the 35% hydrogen peroxide protocol i

tried previously which was a real pain to fit around one's eating

patterns and it tasted like bleach! Not easy at all!

I may try

making my own iodine too after have watched that video on youtube.

Three weeks is NOT enough time for you to have anything concrete in

my opinion. You didn’t go slowly like I suggested before. I think

your body ACCEPTS the Iodine FAR BETTER, when you go GENTLY and is much easier

to monitor any changes that way.

Have you not seen any improvements yet, in your digestion?

Subject: Testing iodine

on skin

Hi,

I was hoping for some advice.

I've been taking iodine for about 3 weeks now. I'm up to about 7 drops per day

with 7% lugols. Sometimes I would take the same amount in the afternoons but I have

since started making and drinking colloidal silver in the afternoons. SO far I

haven notice any huge difference unfotunately.

I am taking it as i have severe digestive problems mainly SIBO, Candida., low

stomach acid, which gives me daily diarrhea and cramps etc.. combine that with

allergies and it makes me feel quite rough in my day to day life.

I put a drop of iodine on my wrist to see how long it would stay there for and

it pretty much disappeared with 1hr30mins.

My question is does doing a test like that really give you a credible

indication as to whether one is low in iodine?

And is it true that iodine can help restoring stomach acid production?

At the moment I'm in bed with flue like symptoms. I'm hoping this is due to

some die off reaction finally rather than just having a winter flu.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Ric-- I'd say Bonnie's advice here is sound, but I would also like to say that

we've had

plenty of women on this list go completely gung-ho and have trouble modulating

their

enthusiasm, even when it was in their best interest to do so, so I don't think

it's so

much based on gender as Bonnie may ;-)

But when you have such a difficult/persistent ult disease, it's not going to be

altered

immediately. It took me 3 months before I realized how much better I was, even

though I did notice small things all along the way. I do think paying attention

to the

details will help. Bonnie has given advice on digestive illness to a few

different people

of late and it seems to me she's got some good information to share.

just my thoughts.

Hi /Bonnie, Thanks for the suggestions. YOu are both right, I am trying many different things at once. I used to take the 'go slow and patience' methodology but I can't do that anymore. |I'm desperate just to see some improvements. So adding one drop a week of iodine would just take way too long. Bonnie, I am already wheat and gluten free. I do eat oats though as I need to try and maintain my weight so I find porridge as a good way to pack in some calories along with nuts and olive oil. I also take

milk kefir and probiotics and eat lactose free products. I will definitely persist with the iodine and will take on board what Bonnie said about taking throughout the day. I'm up to 8 drops of 7% pecent lugols in distilled water at the moment and for the last two days I have been taking 5 drops before bed. (It doesn't affect my sleeping patterns). Does iodine have any effect on good bacteria at all?? I currently have a head cold and chest infection and am hoping that this may be a detox reaction and that I am killing off some nasties. But knowing my luck it's probably just a wintery cold!!I will keep you informed of my progress and thanks as always for all the advice and concernRic From: Baker <vbaker@...> iodine Sent: Friday, January 20, 2012 5:29 AM Subject: Re: Testing iodine on skin+

Hi Ric,

Iodine does not hurt our good bacteria, it only kills the bad. Remember it is a natural element and not a drug.

You can try the Salt Loading Protocol to help you get over your cold symptoms . ( Colds are actually the bodies way of detoxifying).
