Guest guest
should i do an iodine/bromide test? they are expensive but if it means helping my health i will do it... if most people are iodine deficient couldn't i just assume i am too and take the standard dose to heal? what have everyone else done? Guest guest
Most people on this list have not gotten tested. I have not, for example. It's nice to have as a baseline if you have the resources to afford it, but yes you're correct you can assume you're deficient, particularly if you have any thyroid problem, cancer, reproductive problems of any kind, and etc., but virtually everyone is deficient because of the toxic burden of halides that we are all under attack from all day every day. -- moderator On 14 Jan 2012 at 6:13, Caroline wrote: > should i do an iodine/bromide test? they are expensive but if it means > helping my health i will do it... if most people are iodine deficient > couldn't i just assume i am too and take the standard dose to heal? > what have everyone else done? > > > > ------------------------------------ > > Owner: Buist, ND HC > Moderators: Baker, Kathleen Blake, Donna Iler, Linn > > All off topic posts should go to the IodineOT group > IodineOT/ > > > The NEW MEMBER DOCUMENT (#1 on the list) > iodine/files/01%20NEW%20MEMBERS%2 > 0-%20READ%20FIRST/
Guest guest
While it is not necessary to have, it is nice to get a baseline so that you can determine progress. It is a given that you will take iodine for the rest of your life but knowing the dosage that is needed may be a challenging task. Many use the method of increasing until they feel the detox. Some who have good detox pathways never feel the detox. When fighting a critical disease such as cancer (I don't know your health situation), I believe it is good to know where you stand. Many with cancer are very toxic and getting a baseline and then another a year later can tell you how you are doing. Performing this test (24 hour loading w/ bromide) once and then 1 year later can reveal symporter (pumps that pull iodine into the cells) issues that can be corrected to increase saturation levels. Most people don't do the test. Buist, ND HC iodine test worth it? should i do an iodine/bromide test? they are expensive but if it means helping my health i will do it... if most people are iodine deficient couldn't i just assume i am too and take the standard dose to heal? what have everyone else done?
