Guest guest
What he has tested by testing your urine is what we call a "spot test". It is a sample in time of what is circulating in the body. Had you stopped taking Lugols for 48 hours before doing this test it would have been much lower. You have not "overdosed". Those urine tests are useless. You have to do the Iodine Loading test as described by Dr. Abraham in his papers in order to get an accurate level of tissue saturation. I don't think you can get the test in your country though. Buist, ND HC Excess iodine??? Hi all, I am needing some assistance- I am taking lugol's 5% liquid now for the last 6 months. My integrative medical doctor was happy to test urinary iodine levels and the results were as follows: 90 ug/L units which he said was iodine deficiency. He recommended I take 3 drops 3 times a day. I also have been salt loading and taking all relevant companion nutrients. We have recently retested the urinary iodine levels and the results came back as >400 ug/L units where the reference range is >100 ug/L units stating "no deficiency". My doctor now says that I have "overdosed" and to drop down to 1 lugol's drop a day....I'm totally confused about what to do. I also suffer from chronic neurological lyme disease. Any help or advice is welcomed. Thanks (Melbourne, Australia)
Guest guest
, you are now in the position of, if you want to continue taking iodine, you are going to become independent of your MD. As I said earlier in this thread, you *can't* overdose on iodine. Your doc, even tho enlightened enough to prescribe iodine, is overly cautious and so winds up not doing as much for the patient as could be done. You can order Lugol's from ebay, there are folks there that send it to Oz. Here's one of the 2 sellers I trust. The other is " naussauconnection " . http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lugols-solution-4-fl-oz-2-2-iodine-/320674963885?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 & hash=item4aa9b7a1ad Please make sure you are taking all of the companion nutrients, including the unrefined salt. -- On 20 Jan 2012 at 22:40, Buist, ND HC wrote: > > > > What he has tested by testing your urine is what we call a " spot > test " . Guest guest
There you go. If you can find it within your own country at a reasonable price, it's best imo, because you want to assure your supply. --V On 21 Jan 2012 at 16:25, Marsh wrote: > > > > Bloom's Pharmacy of Lismore, NSW also sell iodine. Guest guest
If you " can't " overdose on iodine, what happens to the amount you take that is over what your body needs? Simply excreted through the urine? Other than the load test, are there signs that you have reached the optimum intake? Thanks, Arnie > > , you are now in the position of, if you want to continue taking iodine, you are > going to become independent of your MD.
