Guest guest
I am a new iodine user so I don't know if that is the cause but I would like to recomend xylitol toothpaste for tooth sensitivity. It is incredible how this works and makes ur teeth stronger. Maybe do some research on xylitol first. All the best. Several of my hypothyroid symptoms have greatly improved! About the same time, I got an incredible sensitivity in 2 teeth. The dentist didn't find any decay, but the teeth are very cold-sensitive and often my whole jaw hurts. I don't know if there is any connection between the teeth and the iodine, but I started to wonder when my acupuncturist said that those teeth are on the thyroid meridian. Could this be a detox pathway? Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms? I've wondered if I should decrease the iodorol, but I seem to feel best at 100 mg. Guest guest
I do take all the companion nutrients, plus milk thistle. I've never had any gut issues in the past. Guest guest
I see this term " det pathways " a lot, but am not sure I have a complete understanding of the pathways. All toxins will leave the body via the colon and skin, right? So it would seem that there are only 2 pathways. It seems to me that one should detox the organs followed by a protocol of colon cleansing and sweating to get the toxins out. Do I have this right? Guest guest
Hello Olushola, The kidneys are also a detox pathway. That's why it is important to include unrefined Celtic Sea Salt, and lots of water on the Iodine Protocol, the chloride in the salt helps to bind with the bromine and carries it out in our urine. Guest guest
By the way, there is no "thyroid" meridian. The teeth are linked to acupuncture meridians. Guest guest
May I ask which teeth? I get a lot of tooth/jaw aches and never connected them with iodine or thyroid. I will also second the xylitol (we use it just as xylitol with some salt and/or backing soda added...and cinnamon for taste) for teeth. You can avoid flouride this way, which is something that just makes more work for the iodine to chase out! Guest guest
And breastmilk. This is why I cannot really do anything significant for myself for a couple more years. But, my fifth baby is 16 months now so in a couple of years I'm going to hit my poor body hard! > > > Dear Friends, > > I have been taking iodorol since July, but I increased to 100mg/day in > > August. Guest guest
Here is a chart I found: http://www.secretofthieves.com/tooth-chart/tooth-meridian-03.cfm The kidneys are, indeed, on the same meridian. I wonder if more of the sea salt would help? I have just wondered if I should do something to treat this tooth (there's no decay), or if it's a natural result of treating my thyroid with iodine. Tooth #3 is the one bothering me, but I have also had some sensitivity in tooth #14 (same connections). Thanks. everyone, for your ideas and suggestions. > > I have had two separate Traditional Chinese doctors tell me that thyroid issues are regarded as " kidney yin " deficiences??? > >
