I am sorry I really don't know much about stents. I don't think that there are other alternatives to the dyes but to not have them injected.

Hello:

If I was to have an Artery Stent put in my groin, should I tell the doctor that I’m taking IODINE and would that be a problem in any way? Also are there alternatives to these awful DYES?

I found this website about iodine dye.  There is a newer iodine dye alternative but it is more expensive. It may be a good idea to insist on this one - if you or your insurance can afford it.http://www.intelihealth.com/IH/ihtIH/WSIHW000/7945/7991/418748.html

Peg. I read that not only can the dye cause a bad reaction, it can also cause

death., especially in people taking a Beta Blocker.
