Guest guest
Stay longer on one drop, for up to a month, let your body move more slowly with it. Only increase 1 drop at a time, and use Lugol's 2% to get a low density of iodine. If you already own 5%, you can also mix your iodine 1/2 and 1/2 with distilled water, and that will be roughly 2% Lugol's. The point would be to fo so slow. There are liver and gallbladder cleanses that people do that frequently make a huge difference. Also far-infrared saunas are incredibly detoxing. Soak in hot baths with epsom salts and a cup of hydrogen peroxide. Are you taking the unrefined salt? -- moderator On 14 Jan 2012 at 2:51, rjfnyu wrote: > I keep trying to take iodine and have tried about six or seven times > in the last six months and I keep getting the same result. Guest guest
Your symptoms do suggest a liver issue. If it were me, I would do a formal liver cleanse. There is a booklet for Metagenics Ultra Clear Plus in the files of the group. It is a 28 day food elimination and detox protocol. You take the supporting powder while eliminating foods from your diet. I did it about 5 years ago when fighting cancer and I felt really good when I was done. I get that pain in my right rib cage when my liver screams at me to pay attention. The herbs may not be strong enough to clear out what is causing it to be congested. If you cannot find the book in the files let me know and I will e-mail it. Buist, ND HCOwner / Iodine Group Issues taking Iodine and Sleep; Possible Liver Issue I keep trying to take iodine and have tried about six or seven times in the last six months and I keep getting the same result. I start with a drop of 2% Lugols and do that for about a day or two and then do 2 drops for about a day and then start on half a tablet (12.5mg tablet) of Iodoral. The first day of the Iodoral, I feel really really good, but by the second or third day on half a tablet, I start getting this odd pain at the bottom of my right ribcage. On that night I cannot sleep. This is even after the previous night where I usually sleep very well on the same amount of iodine. The next day I have a terrible hangover feeling and after the first time, I learned to stop the iodine if I want my sleep to return to normal in about a day or two. I am taking the supplemental nutrients, but not the ATP cofactors as most forms of Niacin give me similar effects as iodine, but only after a day of using it. I have tried two liver herbs to no success. I have tried the Siliphos form of milk thistle by Thorne and Chanca Piedra. They do not seem to hurt or help. I should stress that the iodine does not cause a feeling of anxiety for me and it gives me many beneficial effects (skin, blood sugar, energy, sexual) up until the sleepless night. I definitely think that it is doing something positive. If anyone has any advice to how to approach this, I would love to hear it.Thanks,Rob
Guest guest
I wonder whether you have the same problem I had. I was not aware that iodine should be taken before 2 PM and had taken it in the evening. The two times I did this I could not get to sleep. Guest guest
I will try the one drop per day for a month. My only concern is that Lugol's tends to increase my stomach acid too much when I try it for an extended period of time. I was thinking of breaking up the iodoral even more. > > > I keep trying to take iodine and have tried about six or seven times > > in the last six months and I keep getting the same result. Guest guest
I always take the iodine first thing in the morning and only then. Guest guest
Thank you. I looked at the booklet. Did you follow the diet? The diet that they recommend would be very rough for me. Nuts, whole grains, etc. Do you think that something like Zeolite, lipoic acid or Dr. Brownstein's TLC be sufficient? I also was thinking about going to a TCM practitioner in Chinatown. I just feel like I am shooting blind. Thank you, Rob > > Your symptoms do suggest a liver issue. If it were me, I would do a formal liver cleanse. Guest guest
My hubby is doing TLC and ALA right now for his detox. He is not doing the full plan of that brochure. He has eliminated gluten and is eating whole foods and no red meats. We'll see how this goes compared to the last time he did the full 28 days.
