Guest guest
Hi, I understand that according to Dr. Brownstein, Hashi's may be caused by low iodine, and therefore may be helped by iodine. My question is, what happens if I start the iodine protocol, and my antibodies increase chronically and substantially (a little up or down won't bother me -- I test often). I am gluten free, very low carb, organic, RO filtered water only, BPA free/reduced, negative for Candida. Have been taking supportive supplements for past 5 months or so. HPA axis in great shape according to numerous serum and saliva tests. On sex hormones. Just lowered my thyroid dose a bit to " wake up the axis " before starting iodine. I typically change one thing at a time, and test often to see the results, so I have a pretty good idea of what can cause my antibodies to fluctuate. I have saved the iodine for last, because of all the controversy surrounding iodine and Hashi's. I'm pretty nervous about starting iodine because I'm worried my antibodies may take off. What is your recommendation, or Brownstein, then if that happens? Thanks for your feedback.
