Do you know if she has amalgam fillings in her mouth? She could try

chelation to get all the heavy metals removed from her body and then do juices

and the

rest of the clean living protocol for starters.

I understand the Gerson therapy has had quite a lot of success with M/S. I would

also try to find a naturopath who has had success with M/S. There is a lot of

stuff out there on M/S. Some of the cancer programs also seem to reverse it-

perhaps the old story cleanse the body and supply optimum nutrition ?

You are absolutely right..don't know why I didn't remember that...the guy who

rammed the Staten Island ferry into the dock and killed all those people was

on Aspertame..it is suspected that it may have played a role but of course you

won't read that in the news.

There are many possible causes and if it is aspartame, or a combination of

that and other chemicals and toxins, chelation would still be a good place to

start.

Does your friend's daughter use aspartame? This is the toxic

artificial sweetener (Equal, Nutrisweet, etc) that is found in so many

products these days in addition to being used as a sweetener for hot

drinks etc.

I read an article recently that reactions to aspartame can cause

symptoms exactly like MS and when the aspartame use is discontinued,

the symptoms go away.

Just a thought!

I did read Dr Brownstein's book. It seems that patients with MS or Fibromyalgia usually do have thyroid issues - so iodine and the companion nutrients may be helpful.

I cannot afford to see many specialists (I have MS and am on a pension), and iodine supplementation is affordable.

Concerning fibromyalgia and cfs (conditions of mine), iodine has given me my life back and I've only been supplementing for a month. I'm not 100% cured by any means but I don't remember a time in my life that I was capable of doing so much and not crashing. Everything from my IBS to severe brain fog and fatigue to heavy, achy limbs that burned because they hurt so bad has been addressed by iodine. I would say that even if there was no proof that it helped directly with MS, it would improve ur quality of life anyway. Don't wait too long! You might want to read Dr. Wheldon's site.

http://www.davidwheldon.co.uk/ms-treatment.html

He treated his wife for an aggressive case of MS that left her unable to move.

She is well and working as an artist again.

Also check out:

http://www.cpnhelp.org

Sorry if this is Off Topic, but the information is life saving.

If you have questions, you can contact me. I was told I had MS, but it was Lyme

and Chlamydia Pneumoniae that caused MS symptoms. Many have recovered if their

damage was not too great on a combination of antibiotics researched by Dr.

Stratton at Vanderbilt University.

Read the patient stories.

Please take a look,

-- Iodine is important for EVERYONE to take. MS notwithstanding.

You may find a lot of your symptoms resolve to a greater or lesser degree

because iodine deficiency causes a lot of symptoms that fibro and MS people

have. I have fibro and the iodine protocol has made a HUGe difference in my

life.

You will want to be sure you are following the whole protocol. I have a post

where I give examples of VERY affordable supplements for the iodine protocol,

if you'd like I can re-post it.

Also, LDN (low-dose naltrexone) is extremely efficacious for MS, and is highly

affordable. www.ldninfo.org

Have you considered Low Dose Naltrexone

Many MS sufferers report success

Also people who " don't feel right " . It increases the body's endorphins and

appears quite safe

There are about it....

I actually have two different types - one is Leisa's Secret 'Energise' and the other is Golden Glow's 'Skin, Hair and Nails Formula' (also taking Springtime Horsetail 2000 as my hair and nails need help)

Writing on them is too small for me to read the actual levels per tablet but was quite impressed when I first found them. I tend to avoid supplements which are too high in the fat soluble vitamins, a little more relaxed on the water soluble vitamins.

I also tend to get multi-vitamins rather than individual ones as at one stage I was taking ridiculous numbers and it is my feeling that taking vitamins in isolation could be a bad idea. In foods they come with other nutrients and the combinations may have synergies we do not yet understand.

About 2 years ago my wife and I started taking iodine supplements, first just

32.5 mg potassium iodide tablets, then I made 5% Lugol's, taking 50mg daily, and

eventually just took 50mg of Iodoral tablets for the convenience daily along

with 400mcg Selenium, 1000 mg DL-phenylalanine, 1000mg L-tyrosine, 100mg B6, and

1/2 tsp real salt. We continued to take a good Health Food Store Multi

vitamin/mineral, plus a several other supplements that we had taken for decades

(zinc, magnesium, Calcium/magnesium/zinc, Chromium, Folic Acid, Niacin as

Nicotinic acid, Probiotics, fish oil). We also quit using vegetable oils except

for Olive Oil, and instead used Lard.

We started this because we had numerous symptoms of hypothyroid.

I am now 68 years old. Prior to beginning the iodine and adjunct supplements, I

had gradually developed tremors in my hands, to the point that I couldn't get a

fork full of food to my mouth without some spillage; I didn't dare fill a glass

to the top. When I walked, every once in a while my toe would drag as I moved

my leg forward and this would sometimes even trip me. I just considered this

old age overtaking me.

About 4 months into the iodine program, my wife pointed out to me that my hands

were not shaking any where near as much anymore. I hadn't even noticed, the

change being so gradual. Two years later, I would say my tremors are just 5% of

what they were before I started iodine and the related supplements, and I have

not noticed any foot dragging at all for the last year.

I am not sure what caused the improvement in my nerve function, but it had to be

one of the things I started doing which was new. One thing I did read was that

DL-Phenylalanine breaks down into L-tyrosine, and L-tyrosine breaks down into

L-dopa or dopamine in the presence of B6 in one's brain and is vital to nerve

function.

If someone is suffering from any disease that involves nerve degeneration like

MS and Parkinsons, it is a fairly inexpensive experiment to try the combination

my wife and I tried to see if improvement follows for you.

I've never read a Dr. Oz article so I didn't know he promoted aspartame. I just

mentioned the apparent neurotoxicity, and there's ample research on that aspect

to cause caution. I use artificial sweetener myself, either sucralose or sodium

cyclamate, and the rare exposure to aspartame doesn't seem to affect me.

all good,

Duncan
