Retin-A? It was developed initially for acne but is now used mainly to

reverse some sun damage/fine lines from the face.

Hi Cindi

I had bad acne for 20 years. What Helped me the most was a

a wash I made up from manuka honey.

I had very bad acne.

Take a tablespoon of Manuka Honey and thin it with a few drops

of hot water. It doesnt take much water to thin the honey.

Then add cornflour untill its a comfortable consistancey to apply

to your face easily.

Wrap your hair in a towel like a turbin, wet your face first.

then apply the honey to your face and massage around.

Then rinse you skin with water.

Manuka honey has strong antibiotic properties and works extreemly well.

Much better then any of the antibiotics or dalacin T lotion which I had

used in the past. If she has the time she can occasionally leave it on as a

mask

which will enchance the treatment. She should see a huge improvement after

about

2 weeks if she washes her skin with this twice a day.

Manuka Honey is used in hospitals to treat leg ulcers that will not heal.

Antifungal treatments such as caprilic acid were also very helpful in my

case.

Cheers

Cheryl

Anybody had any luck with a supplement helping acne? My sister has

suddenly (at 30) developed a bad case, and none of the standard things

seem to be helping it. She's under a lot of stress, but with me being

hypercoag and it being genetic in my family, I worry that anyone in my

family could get sick like me easily. I suggested Milk Thistle just to

help her liver detox. But it was just a guess, because I've heard acne

can be a herx symptom.

Thanks

  • 11 years later...

Been on Iodoral for a few weeks now. Started at 12.5mg and am now at 50 mg

perday. I take all the additional nutrients recommended and havent had any ill

effects except my skin. I have acne/pimples on my face. I have never had acne,

not even as a teenager. Is this common? Any advice appreciated...

Thanks,

Dina

Hi Dina:

Sounds like

Bromide Acne. I too never had acne as a teenager, so I was told to back off on

the dosage a wee bit for a week or two and wait till it fades, then go back

slowly again.

Hi Dina,

Acne is a symptom of bromide detox. You can do the Salt Loading Protocol to help things progress smoothly; taking baths in epsom salts is also helpful. You will find directions for The Salt Loading Protocol is in our Guide to Supplementing with Iodine in our Files.
