Guest guest
Hi Marge: First find out how many milligrams of Iodine is in the 2 % . I believe it is 2.5 mg. per drop. Then you take that figure and use 0.08 milligrams of Lugol’s per doggie pound. Bonnie From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf Of margee Sent: Friday, February 10, 2012 7:11 PM iodine Subject: Iodine for dog with low albumin My 10 1/2 year old Sheltie has low albumin and the vet is doing testing to figure out the cause (probably Protein-Losing Nephropathy). The prognosis for all the causes of low albumin is dreadful, but I'm hoping iodine will help her. I know that I can give it in her water, but she doesn't really drink a lot. I feed her dehydrated food that I reconstitute with warm water. I can add Lugol's to this, right? I have 2% Lugol's. How many drops would you recommend for an 18 lb dog? Also, what detox symptoms have people experienced with dogs? Thank you, Marge size=1 width="100%" noshade color="#aca899" align=center> No virus found in this message. Guest guest
I disagree with a rule about .08mg per doggie pound. I give my 24 pound dog 6.25mg to 12.5mg a day. My 10 pound cats get 6.25mg. I think 6.25mg is the minimum I would give. I have not noticed my animals evidencing detox side effects. I have noticed profound healing. -- On 10 Feb 2012 at 21:44, Bonnie Cole wrote: > > > > Hi Marge: > > First find out how many milligrams of Iodine is in the 2 % . I > believe it is 2.5 mg. per drop. Guest guest
Thank you, . That sounds in the ballpark to me. I will start her tomorrow with 2 or 3 drops. We've caught this very early and I expect the iodine to make a huge difference in reversing the progression of whatever problem she is having. I'll give it to her brother, too, just in case! Guest guest
Marge-- I always think it's best to put the iodine in their food, to make sure they get the dose. If folks want to also put it in their water, my cats love it when there is a little Lugol's in the water, but I don't count on that to figure the dose. --V On 10 Feb 2012 at 23:03, margee wrote: > > > > > Thank you, . Guest guest
That makes total sense. Started with this morning's meal.
