Guest guest
Sue: In one of Dr. Brownstein’s Blogs, he said that his Veterinary friend prescribes in animals 0.08 mg. per pound. So according to your pet’s weight, you could figure that out in regards to the % you are using. I have lugols @ 15% and have just ordered 7%. Can anyone help me with the doseage amounts or if it needs to be diluted, thank you. Guest guest
If it's for the skin there would be a similar risk of oxidation and therefore irritation of the skin. If you put the Lugol's just on the tumor, however, that issue won't be as important. I should clarify here that when iodine is used for skin tumors on humans we do not put it in carrier oil, we put it directly on the tumor. Also in pets because of their hair coat I'm not certain how quickly or how susceptible they are to the oxidative skin iriritation. They may be more resistant. But again, if it's tumors, you want to put it directly on the tumor. 15% is preferred for tumors. You want that oxidative effect, btw. I see on a quick google search that 7% is mentioned for tumors, but I know I've seen 10% and 15% discussed. The point is to get a very concentrated dose. Just paint enough to cover the tumor, 3 times a day or more. You'll have to go with your intuition. Pets would be subject to bromide detox since they are affected by the ubiquitious bromide bath we all live in now. But any extra iodine will wash out in their urine, just like humans. I would do internal as well. I give my 23 pound dog 6-12mg per day. I just put one to two drops of 5% Lugol's on one of his treats and he eats it up. I do the same for my cats. btw, if you use filtered water, be sure to give it to your pets as well. Dr Simoncini also uses baking soda, you can put it right on the tumor. I know some folks on this list have more/better information on this. -- On 26 Jan 2012 at 13:12, Anabrese Sue wrote: > Hi, I would like to use iodine transdermally for tumours on my pet.
