Guest guest
No there is absolutely no estimate or average time frame. And the idea that detox would ramp up to 50mg and subside after that is also not the case. Generally, the higher the dose, the more the detox symptoms, even and especially over 50mg. If you're uncomfortable with the level of detox symptoms you're experiencing, reduce the amount of iodine you're taking and let that reduced dose " soak " or stay at that level until your body has a chance to get better at moving out the bromides once they are released from the cell receptors. Those free-circulating bromides are what cause the detox symptoms, so the better one's body gets at detoxing, the fewer symptoms and more quickly subsiding. Everyone is different, too different for there to be any average experience. Each person's ability to detox is very very different, diet and exposures to bromides and other halides, etc. We hear about a person who is taking 3 drops of 2% and gets bromide acne, we hear about someone who starts off at 50mg with no significant detox symptoms. The iodine protocol requires that people be willing and able to monitor their own experience and make decisions accordingly. How much and how fast to ramp up your dose is totally individual and personal. I realize this isn't what you wanted to hear, but there it is. -- moderator On 9 Feb 2012 at 14:14, Shauna Boren wrote: > > > > I was wondering about how long it typically takes for bromide detox > symptoms to abate, once a person reaches a dose of, say, 50 mg > iodine/day.
