Guest guest
<<Is there anyone on the list who is not actively doing a challenge?>> I'm not. I did a 12-week challenge when I first found the book four years ago. I did another 12-week challenge for fun last spring, but the day-to-day stuff is just a matter of training my guts out and eating enough to make my muscles happy. Eventually, this is just what you do and you don't have to keep breaking it into challenges. Newbie intro and questions Good morning, everybody! I just found this group last night and I'm excited about everything I'm reading so far. This is my third week and I'm loving the way I feel!! (Technically this is my second challenge; I just wasn't ready to make the commitment to change last time and I don't think I even managed two workouts in a row for the couple of weeks I was " sorta kinda " doing it.) My goal for this challenge is have visible muscle tone and to lose 20 pounds. We are moving this summer and I want to meet my new friends as a confident, healthy woman!! Is there anyone on the list who is not actively doing a challenge? I'll probably need to do 2 challenges to see the results I am visualizing but I'm already thinking ahead to what happens after that. ~ My inspiration for this challenge: Success is EARNED, never given. Guest guest
Welcome, !! I'm fairly new myself, but have found this to be a wonderful group of women who all have common goals. I want to re-post my motto for this Challenge, which is my first " official " challenge. I've started and stopped a few times before, but 2004 is going to be my year!!! My motto below is printed in great big letters and taped on my refrigerator. I have a husband and two stepchildren who love the junk food, so I still have it around to tempt me. So...my motto (and my before pics) are there for me to see eve4ytime I walk in the kitchen. I will have to do at least two (maybe three) challenges to get to my final goal of 18%BF (currently around 45%BF). Anyway, good luck!!! Guest guest
Hello, My name is Josie and I've been reading the messages on the group for the past few weeks. I am at a loss on where to start to feel better as I am physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted. I have severe allergies and the unseasonably mild winter is not helping. I've been intrigued by the recent discussions about "iodine allergy" because I have also been told that I'm allergic to iodine. I understand this isn't possible since it's in our bodies, naturally, but I have had life-threatening reactions to both shellfish and topical iodine products. I've had life-threatening reactions to secondary contact with shellfish, as well, so I suspect I am on the "high risk" side of things. I have never had a doctor willing to even attempt to give me a contrast for MRIs or any other kind of medical testing and I have never been willing to continue seeing a doctor who would dismiss the issue as insignificant. Notwithstanding that (and it is a huge concern given my history), I want to have quality of life. Where do I start from Ground Zero? Thanks for your time, Josie______________________________________To those who believe, no proof is necessary;to those who don't, no proof is possible. - - - - - - * * * * * * * * * * * - - - - - - We gain strength, and courage, and confidenceby each experience in which we really stopto look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot.--------------------------Eleanor Roosevelt--------------------------
Guest guest
Hi Josie: Welcome. I think you will hear from our Naturopath and if you don't just write directly putting 's name in the subject line and she will respond with information for you. If it turns out that you can tolerate the Iodine, you will feel so much better once you get started on it. I have posted about what GREAT THINGS it did for me. Directly below here is an email I sent in about Iodine allergy and BELOW THAT is the reply from our Naturopath. So read right to the very bottom. And there is a LINK for you to read.....Bonnie Hello there: On another list I joined (SIBO) I received this remark about being afraid to try Iodine (I have an iodine allergy connected to shellfish allergy). and it reminded me that someone asked this question before (on this list) but I don't remember the answer. Would someone mind telling me again? If a person has a SHELLFISH ALLERGY can they take Iodine or not? Thanks, Bonnie Yes you can take iodine with a shell fish allergy. I have that allergy and have taken 125 mgs / day. The allergy is to the protein in the shell fish not the iodine. http://www.allergyexpert.us/food/shellfishallergy.html Buist, ND HC No virus found in this message.Checked by AVG - www.avg.comVersion: 2012.0.1901 / Virus Database: 2109/4774 - Release Date: 01/29/
