Hi Amy, I'm no expert here but I know that too much iron can cause hypertension. I have low iron 11 in the range of 13-150 and I take supplements to correct it. I drink 10ml of a liquid called Floradix since if I don't and my levels go too low, I get heart palps and skipped heart beats. I'm not sure if you should take iron and how much since you are in range, although in the lower range. Please get your levels checked to ensure you aren't accumulating too much iron. Are you also on thyroid pills? I'm still on synthroid and that caused me problems with blood pressure until I lowered the dose. I've been on the Iodine protocol for a couple of years now. Little over a month ago I added Iron supplements (back in Sept, I addeded them, but stopped because I was unsure). I now have high blood pressure and resting pulse of 95-110. Coincidence? or could Iron supplements do that? I am 37 yrs old. My pulse used to be in the 60's. My BP was always 110/69 (now it's around 145/90).

Last June, my ferritin was 25 (range 13-150).

In March, I have a physical scheduled, so I'll get more labs then....but in the meantime, I'm worried!

Thanks,

I was on Synthroid last May until September, then on Cytomel until Jan 18th of

this year (I was diagnosed as hypo in September). So I'm off them all. I will

stop taking the Iron (today), but I wonder how long it will take till I see a

change (if that is what's causing it).

Thanks, Amy
