would have to do testing to know that for sure but it makes sense that if it

was exposed to water and the air, that it would lose potency.

Do we really

If you want it to sit around you should use distilled water and cap it.

Otherwise the iodine will

evaporate to some degree. When I've had Lugol's in a some water sitting around

it loses

color after a time-- that tells me it's going away.
