I, too, am on iodine and progesterone cream for Estrogen Dominance, which includes heavy periods, thickened endometrium and ovarian cysts. I also have some fibrocystic breast issues as well.  The iodine has helped my breasts immensely. A very noticeable difference.  I have been on 1/4 dose progesterone cream on days 1-14 and a full dose on days 15-25.  Near the end of the full dose days, my breasts will become very tender.........but not like fibrocystic tender........more like when I was pregnant and my breasts would be sore and very sensitive.

That makes me wonder if your pain is due to iodine/detox or the progesterone cream dosage and timing.  LaraleeOn Thu, Mar 1, 2012 at 9:07 PM, agnes9971 <agnes9971@...> wrote:

Good evening Everyone,

Thanks to all your suggestions, I feel better all around taking 12.5 Iodoral, salt loading as needed and taking all supplements. I also got NanoGreens and Cytozyme AD suggested by . My detox symptoms got better, no more throat tightness, exhaustion, achiness, insomnia EXCEPT my fibrocystic breast got worse. It's more painful, dense, lumpy and sore. Breast specialist saw nothing serious, sono was normal and am scheduled for thermography on 3/15.

Did anyone have this problem with breast pain on Iodoral? I assume this is not a detxo symptom. Any suggestions how to help myself? I'm on progesterone pill for heavy periods if that makes any difference but I have been on it for 1.5 years with no problems.

Thank you all so much.

I ended up having A TCRE my periods were so heavy. Trans cervical re-section of

the Endometrium. Where they cauterise the lining of the womb. It totally stopped

my heavy bleeding and a lot of my PMS as well. I have no idea why it would stop

my PMS, but it did. I now have no idea where in my cycle I am as I don't get the

excessive symptoms any more. Even though blood tests show that I am NOT

menopausal.

Laralee, we can write a book together! I have the same female problems as you do since my TT in 2004. I was able to quit taking progesterone with the addition of iodine. Had the

same type of breast symptoms. Painting with Lugol's is very helpful for breast

pain.

Sorry Agnes ; (  Its been since about 2003 for me when our family went through some significant trials while I was pregnant with my last baby.  Totally changed my hormonal system, thyroid, insulin resistance, adrenals, you name the endocrine system, it changed it all up.

I am using the compounded progesterone cream because the liver doesn't have to process it and it takes much less progesterone in the cream form.  I know my liver is sluggish so I don't want to add the progesterone pill to its load.

My doctor just changed my pcream from 1/4 dose on days 1-14 and 4/4 dose days 15-25 to 1/2 dose daily with no changes because of cycle irregularities since going on the pcream......back to back cycles....first one heavy...second one lighter....and I couldn't tell which one was where I should start counting and dosing for day 1 and on.  Hopefully that will get me off the merry-go-round I've been on and will help to lighten my periods too.  I know most say to follow the cycle with pcream dosage, but for now we're going to give this a go until I can see if this will regulate things.  I'm 51 and perimenopause, so it may be that nothing regulates me at this point.  We'll see.

While my periods have been heavier on the iodine, I do think in the end they will even out as I get all my systems back in shape, and the iodine is helping with that.  I hope you figure out what the root causes are and what the subsequent changes should be.  If it were me, I'd switch to the progesterone cream and if that didn't fix it then I would lower the dose at the end of the month a tad.

Blessings,Laralee

re: fibrocystic breasts... I have taken iodine for over a year

now... sometimes with breaks but somewhat consistently.  My

fibrocystic breasts are much less of a problem now.. I feel less

"lumpiness" and I do not notice tenderness as much.

As per my Integrative Doctor, iodine is very protective of all of

the female organs, and due to my very high risk of breast cancer, he

suggests it highly.  It is also good for the ovaries, and helps them

somehow in the development of the hormones that they make.

Laralee,Thank you for your comments. I'll look into progesterone cream to replace the pill. As for my period, iodine caused it to be really heavy but also shorter. I bled a lot for 1.5 days but the next day, it was pretty light. I do hope my periods will even out on iodine and I will be able to get off progesterone all together.Thank you and take care,AgnesSent from my iPadOn Mar 2, 2012, at 11:06 AM, Mommaof10 <mommaof10@...> wrote:

Agnes,Sorry I don't have any advice about the breast pain, but I was wondering about the progesterone pill. Does it help a lot with the heavy bleeding?len From: agnes9971 <agnes9971@...> iodine Sent: Thursday, March 1, 2012 7:07 PM Subject: Iodine and breast pain

Agnes

Have you tested your progesterone levels since starting iodine?

One of the lecturers that Google invites in to talk to its employees was a

researcher who was invited because " he knew his stuff. " He said that iodine

accentuates the creation of the good estrogen: estriol. That is a huge plus for

iodine and maybe helps explain its great benefits to women. Men too in their

40's and beyond tend to have a lot of estrogen (more than a lot of women) and so

they also would benefit.

Peace and gratitude, Dean PS I finally am through the bromoderma problem. I can

take lots of iodine (200+ mg) now with no detox reactions.
