Guest guest
one thing that is really troubling is this weight gain. is there anything one can do? when does it turn around? i would think that if the iodine was helping my thyroid be less hypothyroid that i would tend to lose weight, but that is just not the case. will it ever come off? barry
Guest guest
Hi Barry, Please read about this, #16 in The Guide to Supplementing with Iodine in our Files. You will see it has to do with your detox pathways being blocked. There are some things you can do to help the bromide be released, liver detox is one. Taking herbs such as milk thistle, curcumin ; drinking organic vegetable juices also help the liver detox as do coffee enemas. Guest guest
That is a good observation. I hope you on a path to figuring this out.On Sun, Mar 25, 2012 at 3:08 PM, viajero8 <viajero8@...> wrote: actually, now that i think of it, my free t3 and free t4 numbers have never been this low in my life. i have constant aches and pains in my legs that i never had before. maybe this weight gain is due to me being more hypothyroid than i have ever been before. maybe i am too quick to blame it on the iodine. i will have my new lab results tomorrow. i will know more then. barry > > so, i'm having trouble getting my head around this weight gain issue. i am feeling better on the iodine, but i have definitely gained weight and it will not budge. it's getting worse. if i understand the theory, it is because my detox pathways cannot handle all of the toxins that are being expunged, and they are being stored in extra fat. is that right? well, weren't the toxins in my tissues to begin with? if my body could not handle the detox load, why didn't they just go back to the tissues they were formerly in? why the extra weight gain? does this ever reverse or is this the price one must pay to do the iodine protocol? i have been very hypothyroid, but never gained weight like this. thanks, barry >
Guest guest
Barry,Your body is working on many different levels, so you often need a multipronged approach. If your frees are low, taking or taking more NTH would help, and working on supporting/clearing your detox pathways would be important also.
