Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I'm new to this group and just happened to stumble upon it on the web from a link to the owner's blog. I've already been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer (been told I'm low risk because of no node involvement, spread, or molecular mutations), after having a TT a couple of months ago. To say the least I've been kind of surprised that some doctors recommend treating with Iodine. I did order Brownstein's book to learn more, but don't have it yet. My problem is that I'm scheduled to have RAI in a couple of weeks. People here seem to think this is a bad idea from what I can surmise after reading some of your posts. I wonder if anyone could provide me with a few shortcuts on information about treating with Iodine instead of RAI or as an Adjunct? I apologize for not doing more of my own legwork, but time is getting short for me. Was also surprised that the Cleveland Clinic does not reccomend taking out the thyroid unless there are positive nodes? I never heard that before, though its already too late for me on that score. Any brief help or links you could give me that wouldn't take up an inordinate amount of your time would be appreciated. Thank you - Kara
