Healthcheck USA offers all 4 and they test through LabCorp. No script required.http://www.healthcheckusa.com/STTM-Total-Iron-Blood-Testing-Panel/46924/

You can read more about TIBC here.http://www.healthcheckusa.com/Total-Iron-Binding-Capacity-TIBC/46944/

Hi there,

Could you please tell me if I paint with Lugol's, do I consider that in my calculation on how much I want

to take internally? i.e. 50mg. Iodorol and paint with 8 drops of Lugols- Do I say, I'm taking 50 mg. or

is it 50mg. plus 52mg. of drops = 98mg.

Also, I thought I read that you should stop your adrenal support supplements two weeks prior to taking a saliva

cortisol test for adrenals. Is that true- two whole weeks?

Lastly, my dr. has given me a script from Labcorp to get my blood tests. She didn't include saturation %

and ferriton, however, included TIBC and Iron and all the rest. I questioned it and her assistant said

that Labcorp doesn't do saturation and that TIBC 'should cover it'. What is TIBC and has anyone used

Labcorp?

THANK YOU!!

Jeannie

It " s difficult to tell just how much iodine is absorbed with painting. I would

just distinguish both methods.

You can do a saliva test for adrenals while on supplements, you just need to

note that on the form or have your doc note what type of adrenal support you are

taking. You'll need some empty capsules to put your HC or other type of adrenal

support meds in, so that the med isn't coming into contact with the saliva in

your mouth. Testing while on meds can answer questions that you would just be

guessing about otherwise.

When I was taking my Naturethroid twice daily, I would take the 2nd dose no

later than 3pm. This would be more than an hour after lunch, and more than an

hour before dinner. Also, if I took it any later.. It sometimes gave me TOO

MUCH energy in the pm and I had a hard time to go to sleep at night. JMO

Jeannie,

Your Iron Saturation is easily calculated from your Serum Iron and your TIBC.

You just divide Serum Iron by TIBC and multiply that by 100(or move the decimal

2 places to the right if you like to think of it that way).

Ex.- My last iron panel(done by LabCorp w/ saturation % included, BTW) results

were:

Serum Iron- 109

TIBC- 295

So, 109/295 = .37 X 100 = 37%

Hope this helps. Good luck w/ your doc and her assistant.
