I always use iodine on bites. Especially mosquito bites, it will keep the bites

from becoming itchy and swelling up.

When putting iodine on tick bites, do you have to use any oils as I have read in

other posts or just apply the iodine?

I just use iodine straight on the bite. It usually only requires one

application, I try to put it on immediately after I get a bite.

Great idea. So, I can put my bottle of iodine tincture I don't want to use in my "tick kit" that I keep in my 'nature backpack' along with tweezers, gloves, and vial!
