Guest guest
stephanie, my doctor and everyone here at my local health food stores keeps advocating 25-50 mg. a day of dhea for a male. a member of this group told me that dr. brownstein recommends only 5-10 mg. a day for dhea for a male. i did some research on the net and was able to corroborate that what i was told about dr. brownstein's recommendation was correct. my doctor and the health food store gurus tell me that is nothing and it will hardly do anything. i will follow dr. brownstein's recommendations every time over the general info that keeps getting passed around out there these days. so, here is my question. on my last saliva test, my dhea (7am -9am) was 61 with a reference range of 71-640 pg/mL. my dhea/cortisol ratio/10,000 was 122 with a reference range of 115-1,188. so, you can see that my dhea is low. the first number is in the red, and the second, just bordering low yellow on the chart. i am very sensitive to modalities and usually have to start pretty low and slow (i'm only up to 3/4 drop of lugols). with these dhea numbers, would i want to take 5 mg a day and possibly build to 10 mg or just start and stay at 10 mg a day? maybe even just take and stay at 5 mg a day? thanks so much, barry
