Guest guest
Hello Debbie and Welcome! Yes, it is important for you to be taking the companion nutrients . (magnesium, selenium, vitamin C and unrefined Celtic Sea Salt). The amounts needed are in The Guide to Supplementing with Iodine in our Files. Ingesting iodine will detox the toxic halides from our bodies; you may not experience detox symptoms with 12.5 mg., but then again, maybe you will. Everyone is different and there is no set amount that will cause a person to feel detox. Again, welcome and please do include the companion nutrients in the Iodine Protocol. Kind regards, -Kathleen moderator breastfeeding, iodine, and supplements Hi!I'm a new member. I searched the archives and have figured out that I shouldn't have more than the 12.5 mg of Idodoral (started yesterday) while breastfeeding. I am wondering if I need to do the other supplements (Vitamin C, selenium)if I'm not taking enough Iodine to detox? Thanks in advance,Debbie Burt
Guest guest
Just to expand a bit-- the companion nutrients are not just about detoxing, they are also about utilizing the iodine within the body. A note to all-- I will be away for a couple of weeks with limited email so will not be participating in the list very much. best wishes to all, -- moderator On 3/10/2012 11:39 PM, Kathleen Blake wrote: > > > Hello Debbie and Welcome! > Yes, it is important for you to be taking the companion nutrients . > (magnesium, selenium, vitamin C and unrefined Celtic Sea Salt). Guest guest
Thank you, Kathleen and ! I realized this morning that the high-quality food-based prenatal I always forget to take has 500 mg of Magnesium and 200 of selenium! It even has a little vitamin C and a little Iodine, but not enough. So I think I'll go back to taking those prenatals, and add in the other supplements listed in the pdf file. Thanks so much for having this group, and for the fantastic documents sent to new members. Very helpful!
