Delays in posts

I have gotten more than one private email recently, and several emails on the

list, about delays in posts appearing.

All new members are moderated. That means, until one of the moderators

has time to look at the posts lined up for approval and does the approvals, your

posts won't appear on the list. All of the moderators have very busy lives off

the

computer. We do our best but on occasion all the moderators are away from

their computers at once. So please do not worry about your posts not posting for

at least 12 hours, if not more. Please be patient.

We have 6,000 members. That's a small town. There are 5 of us working to

keep the list running smoothly with minimal disruptions and maximum

transmittal of information. We had to go to a mostly-moderated format because

of repeated problems with disruptive behavior, which is understandable in a

group of people this large but was not sustainable. So we had to make changes

in order to be able to continue forward with the list. We apologize for the

inconvenience. Please be patient.

with best wishes,

Hi ,

Thank you so much for your detailed response. I am SO impressed with the active

role you moderators take on this forum..... kudos and blessings to you all!!!!

You are helping so many people and you are working so very hard to do it. I am

glad to know about the lag time, not that it really matters to me (I am never in

that big of a hurry!), but just so that I know that eventually it will turn up

and that it did take adn I don't have to redo. (I am kinda new to this

group/forum thing, and the other 2 forums I am on post immediately, so I was

just thinking I did something wrong, and had to re-do. Good to know!)

Again, I appreciate all you moderators are doing. I would much rather have a

delay in post time, knowing that you are " out there " overseeing, checking,

answering, involved.... than to have it go thru immediately with little

oversight/involvement.

Thanks again, so much!!
