Guest guest
why are you not taking iodine every day? companion nutrients? puffy face can also be a symptom of low thyroid. I work with a woman whose eyes are almost completely shut! (this looks weird) b/c she is undertreated with Armour. she believes she has a genetic condition. :/ Gracia Hello,i have a problem. I am taking 50mg iodine in form of Lugols solution every 2 days. Also take the companions and do salt loadings (1/2tsp and lots of water after). Some days ago my face started to get very puffy. It looks really terrible but i feel not bad, actually i feel very good! But it looks so terrible that i need to wear sunglasses.. and i'm afraid to leave the house.Damn.. should i stop or continue? I need to look somehow OK, can't stay with that puffy face longer! I already tried to get more potasium (although i should get enough through eating potatoes and bananas every day), lowered my salt intake, drank more water, did 1 hour fast walk in the morning at very fresh air in the forest, lowered protein intake. All does not help. So i think it must be hormonal.
Guest guest
I feel that every 2nd day is enough, feel OK with it and that amount. I do the salt loadings between the iodine but to be honest sometimes the salt-water disgusts me. I'm not sure if i'm hypo because generally i feel awake and have a good amount of energy (just today i rode my bicycle again since maybe 2 months and had no problem to drive fast, energetic and even that big hill here i mastered without much problems). When i'm hypo i usually prefer to lay in my bed or stay at home and don't like sunshine that much, no energy at all. Today it got a little bit better. Perhaps i need to be more strict with my diet because i ate some (really not much) junk before my face got so puffy. Perhaps i'm detoxing mercury, since i had some amalgam fillings as i was a child (which was removed as i was maybe 16-18y)? I know i had terrible reactions to amalgam, my gums were permanent inflamed as i had the amalgam fillings.. Perhaps my kidneys are overhelmed? But i pee normal and regularly. I really don't get it. > > > why are you not taking iodine every day? companion nutrients? > puffy face can also be a symptom of low thyroid. Guest guest
Have you had thyroid labs since starting iodine? Linn > > Hello, > > i have a problem. I'm taking iodine since about 2 years. Last doctor told me he makes only TSH, so i didn't go there anymore. But i'm still searching a doc who makes all thyroid parameters. Guest guest
No thyroid meds. I never got any prescribed because my thyroid was always OK refering to the blood panels i did in the past. > > Do you take thyroid meds? > > Linn >
Guest guest
Most doctors say that if you are within lowest limits of the tests you are “normal”. But the lowest limits are only enough to keep you alive, not for optimal health. Do you have the actual results yourself? I would recommend get a new set of the most helpful tests – TSH, FreeT3 and FreeT4, and look at the results yourself. Donna in IL, moderator No thyroid meds. Guest guest
It would be prudent to get labs done again, preferably with Free T4 and T3 labs done along with the TSH. Puffy face is a hypothyroid symptom. Linn Moderator > > > > Do you take thyroid meds? > > > > Linn > > >

Guest guest
Well the doctors here usually just make the TSH. But i have a lab in my city, maybe i go directly to the lab and pay it myself. > > Just make sure they for sure get you a TSH, FREE T3 and FREE T4. Guest guest
I get my labs myself all the time through HealthCheckUSA. Don't know if you are in the USA or not. With them it is a Thyroid Panel II and costs $85. On Sat, Mar 17, 2012 at 11:23 PM, priest676@... <priest676@...> wrote: Well the doctors here usually just make the TSH.
