Guest guest
It would be good to know! One of my hopes from Iodine is that my digestion will become less sluggish. A good elimination at least once a day would be a blessing. Guest guest
Hi : If you have Digestion problems like I did, Lugol’s liquid is the way to go. Digestion begins in the stomach and I thought the Iodoral would LEAVE THE STOMACH before it opened up and was not be available, so I always used the liquid. Besides that it only costs about $10. for six months. Guest guest
We have had to work on this issue for several of my family. First, a digestive enzyme with meals helps the process, along with a good probiotic. These help in digestive help in general. For getting things moving more often, we have used several things. Vit C and magnesium can help. My daughter has been taking Thorne Research Buffered C powder, and that has helped clear her out. It has vit C, calcium, and magnesium. But the only thing that has helped us achieve 2-3 regular movements is Dr. Schulze’s Intestinal Formula #1. It is an herbal formula that somehow helps your body learn proper elimination. You take 1 capsule the first day with food at dinner. If you don’t have 2 movements during the next day, then you take 2 the next night, and repeat, adding 1 each night until you are achieving 2-3 movements per day. Then you can cut back and stop taking it. I don’t understand exactly why it works, but it has for several of us. For me, I took it 3-4 years ago, got things working well, and have been fine every since. My daughter has just used it after struggling with constipation for several years, and she has been fine now for 2 months without having to take it. She no longer avoids meals because she feel so “full”. A colon cleanse might also be helpful to clean things out initially if you are really struggling with eliminating. Then work on regularity. It is really essential to have this pathway working well, because as you use the iodine protocol, you are stirring up the toxins in your body, and you want to clear them out as quickly and regularly as possible so you don’t feel sick from them staying inside you. Think of your kitchen garbage can. If you keep taking it outside the house, it is not bad, but leave the garbage in the house, and soon it will stink! I hope that give you some ideas, you have to find what works for you. Guest guest
What about drinking down psyllium husk seed? It works wonders! The downside? Spacing when it is taken due to interfering with the absorption of thyroid meds and some supplements.Staci Kuhl On Tue, Mar 13, 2012 at 10:07 AM, Donna Iler <Donna@...> wrote: We have had to work on this issue for several of my family. Guest guest
Psyllium husk alone can cause issues for those with bowel troubles. Dr. Schulze's products are a much better solution. Guest guest
Hello Bonnie, I took great interest in your reply about using the Lugol's liquid. Do you find that it does get absorbed in the stomach whereas the Iodoral doesn't? Did you have a sluggish bowel before starting the Lugols? Do your bowels move as much as 2-3 times a day? Mine never have in my entire life, and like , I have concerns about this. They have always been sluggish and once a day would be a tremendous improvement. My 3 day attempt with the iodoral left me constipated. I am wondering if I can do the iodine thing since mine are so sluggish. How do you keep the Lugol's from staining your teeth and where do you purchase it? Thank you for caring. Guest guest
Senna is a dangerous ingredient in Dr Schulze's and many other colon cleansing formulas. My natural/alternative MD gave me a severe warning after I showed him my favorite product for constipation. The senna was very effective, but look it up and you'll see the reasons he told me not to take it. (My product was Trader Joe's Colon Cleanse) I went on the Specific Carbs Diet after reading here on this iodine list repeatedly that the " detox pathways " have to be clear. My pathway has been unreliable for decades. Specific Carbs Diet is helping me. There's a website called Breaking the Vicious Cycle and a group, BTVC. best- stephanie mc > > We have had to work on this issue for several of my family. > > First, a digestive enzyme with meals helps the process, along with a good probiotic.
