Guest guest
I would wait until your energy comes back to even start doing anything. In the past I was one of those women that would push myself even when sick. I was sick a month or so ago and didn't push myself like I normally would have and I got better so much quicker. I kind of eased back into working out once I got my energy back and was at full workout within a few days. Hope you get to feeling better ASAP! Pam > Hello everyone! > > I was out of town since Wednesday and was unable to workout during the holiday. When we came home on Sunday I came down with a nasty cold. So it's been a week since I last worked out and my question is since I am still sick today, when should I return to working out? I've always pushed myself in the past sooner than I should have. I have not been sick in a few years which is great, but I'm miserable. I don't think I have a fever, but my lungs are all congested. Do I wait until all evidence of the cold is gone or just wait until my energy returns. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. > Weal > >
Guest guest
Thanks Pam: My husband who is also my workout partner is sick too, we decided to wait until we have an internal " ok " . I don't want to push myself and get sick all over or have it carry on too long. Weal Re: Getting Sick I would wait until your energy comes back to even start doing anything. Guest guest
The general rule when you're sick is that if all the symptoms are above your neck (sniffles, scratchy throat, watery eyes) it's ok to work out. If you have symptoms below your neck (fever, cough, chest congestion, chills, body aches) you need to park it until you feel better. Resting is usually better than soldiering through. If you push yourself when you're run down you can turn a cold that would have lasted a couple of days into something more serious that drags on for weeks. I've watched more than one determined Body for Lifer get pneumonia. We're a stubborn bunch. :-) PS - Progresso chicken noodle soup is pretty balanced in protein and carbs and great when you're feeling under the weather. Guest guest
I'm so paranoid about getting sick because I wasn't able to get a flu shot. I bought this mild fragrance spray and when I'm not near any soap I have been spraying my hands figuring the alcohol would kill the germs. Guest guest
My husband uses a hand soap that is antiseptic and requires no water. He works on a construction site and swears by it. Of course we were both visiting relatives and his mother got sick while we were there. I somehow think airborne germs are highly contagious. Now I have the Airborne product ready for such situations....of course all this after the fact! Weal Re: Getting Sick I'm so paranoid about getting sick because I wasn't able to get a flu shot. Guest guest
Stacia, You'd probably really like the Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gels and Lotions. I love them. There are all different scents and they're great when you aren't anywhere where you can wash your hands. ~~ In , " Stasia Bachrach " <s_bachrach@y...> wrote: > > I'm so paranoid about getting sick because I wasn't able to get a > flu shot. Guest guest
Several people have commented that since starting iodine they have been less apt to catch illnesses that are going around. The reverse seems to be true for me. It used to be that I didn't catch anything, even when family members were quite ill. Since beginning to increase my iodine in November I have been sick three times! It is very frustrating for me. Is catching cold or stomach flu a detox reaction of some sort? Or can this be part of healing for some people? Thanks,Kim
Guest guest
Hi Kim, Are you taking the companion nutrients? Actually, a cold is the body's way of detoxing , so I would guess you are detoxing when you feel 'sick'. Next time you feel a cold coming on, do the Salt Loading Protocol and make sure you are drinking plenty of clean water, to help flush out the toxins. Having these healing reactions is a good sign that your body is getting rid of toxins!
