Guest guest
Hi, I just want to put it out there that while the standard recommendation is to NOT take iodine after 2:00PM, it is definitely not true for me and possibly for some. I'm only making this statement that while it may be obvious to some to experiment others will do everything literally suggested. I have been doing the iodine protocol since Oct 2009, and after ramping up to 200mgs I just couldn't sustain the cost of Iodoral so I switched to Lugol's once I started making my own my stomach could not take the morning or mid-morning dose. So now I come home from work at 5:30- 6:30 use the Barlean's Fish oil (which tastes like candy since they have a proprietary way of taking the fish smell out and add amazing flavors with stevia)squirt it down my throat and swallow the Lugols and salt with it. It works like a charm, and if I eat something right away I don't feel nauseous. My sleep is not affected at all.I just thought this may help someone who is trying to fit the protocol into their daily routine. Guest guest
Hi Karin, Thanks for your post. Yes, we all to have experiment to find what works for each of us. I take 100 mgs iodine (Iodoral) daily; 50mg with breakfast and 50mg with dinner, and that works fine for me as well. Again, we are all different. Guest guest
Well it puts me to sleep so I guess I will try bedtime. That way I can get something done during the day... Guest guest
I also agree. I take one tablet of Iodoral in the morning and one before bed along with magensium oil. I actally wake up less often since doing this and get a much better night sleep. Nat > > Well it puts me to sleep so I guess I will try bedtime. Guest guest
Nat, What were your sleep patterns like before you took iodine at bedtime? I am at my wit's end with sleep loss and will soon have to resort to Ambien just to stay alive. I'm so sleep deprived I'm afraid to take even a single risk. I take 50mg in the morning and once took 3mg at lunch and was wired that night, don't know if that was a coincidence. Please advise. I think I could recover nicely if only I could sleep. Guest guest
Nat, I went though that several years ago. Ambien did nothing for me. Lunesta did nothing for me and those meds are very bad for you. I totally re-trained myself to sleep. Bed at the same time every night even if I didn't go to sleep. I also bought a fan that I focused on the sound so my mind wouldn't wander. The only thing that really gave me a good nights sleep was Walmarts cheap Sleep Aid. I remember that first night, I slept all night it was like heaven. That's safe and worked where nothing else did. NO sleep is the most horrible feeling in the world, it can really mess with your mind and body..I started taking Melatonin after that for a few months. Now at that time I get sleepy and have to go to bed. Guest guest
I have terrible sleep patterns prior. I wake several times a night and ended up having to go too the loo, as I was awake. Since covering myself in magnesium oil and splitting my iodine, morning and night, I am waking once, often this is not until its light. Guest guest
Hi, Karin, This section of your information made me take attention right away. Did I read that correctly? You make your own Lugol's Iodine solution? If so, do you mind sharing how you make it? I am greatly interested! ~Jess > > > so I switched to Lugol's once I started making my own my stomach could not take the morning or mid-morning dose. > Karin >
