Guest guest
Hi everyone, For about a year or so I've been on 200mg of Iodoral daily along with the companion nutrients. Never had any detox symptoms but had to lower my thyroid dose last spring (I currently take 25mcg Synthroid + 60mg natural thyroid). Well, I just had new labs taken and apparently I've gone hyper again with too much T3. I was shocked because I didn't think the Iodoral would make me have to lower my dosage AGAIN. I also have: - way too high progesterone - double the normal levels - elevated liver enzymes - low ferritin - low B12 (I am not vegan) I'm wondering if these things are also connected to the Iodoral because they did not show up before. I'm very worried about the liver enzymes especially... and now wondering if the high progesterone is causing the minor acne breakouts that I've been struggling with. (I've tried saw palmetto for 1.5 months but doesn't seem to be working) My ND is recommending I do an iodine loading test because she thinks I take WAY too much Iodoral and should lower the dosage to at most 100-150mg. (And she also wants me to drop my natural thyroid to 45mg.) I am going crazy with the constant fluctuations of my thyroid levels thanks to the iodine... I had no idea it would be constantly changing. Questions for the group: 1. Could these side effects on my labs (progesterone, ferritin, B12, liver enzymes) be from the Iodoral? If so why?? 2. At this time would an iodine loading test be helpful and if so, which one? 3. Do you think I should reduce my dosage of Iodoral? I am worried about losing the benefits if I reduce my dose... but I don't want to cause other problems!! I have also been told to supplement with ferritin, B12 and some milk thistle liver complex thingie... Supposed to get my levels re-tested in 1 month. Any insight anyone can provide would be much appreciated. Thank you!
