Guest guest
yes, Transfer factor plus is highly effective against this. If the person has mercury fillings or other autoimmune disorder, I then recommend the regular transfer factor (not hte plus which raises NK activity a bit too high for autoimmune disorders) . Please contact me if you would like to know how to get it. I have used it with about 50 clients so far with excellent results. I still also recommend oxidative techniques as a compliment to almost any protocol for people who have access to it, but not everyone does, at least til saul comes out with his pocket ozone generator (: Thanks Matt If your blood tests are all negative, why are you still sick? Guest guest
Dear Donna, 2 lysine capsules every hour for 8 hours will usually work. That will also prevent a herpe sore from coming on the lip, if you catch it right at the beginning before the first blister has formed. Best of Health! Vitamin C 2,000 mg twice daily Cayenne capsules Use as directed on label ( You could also just make a tea out of it) B Complex 100 mg 3 times daily plus extra vitamin B 12 If you could do the injections, that's preferred. Zinc chelate 80 mg. for 1 week then reduce to quicker absorbing 50 mg. zinc lozenges Other helpful supplements are; Calcium chelate (knowing what I know now, I'd use the coral calcium) 1,500 daily plus magnesium 750 mg. daily Vitamin A 75,000 IU for 2 weeks, then drop to 50,000 IU or take 25,000 IU in emulsion capsule form Vitamin D 1,000 IU twice daily for 1 week, then drop to 400 IU. Vitamin E 400-800 IU daily Coenzyme Q10 is also helpful alone with germanium And I'd really hit the CS most of all. The above I got out of my book " Perscription for Nutritional Healing " . My husband had shingles years ago, and that is what we used. Didn't get the perscription drug the doctor gave him. Decided to go this route. However, that was before I knew about the CS. As usual, wished I'd known then what I know now. Gail > >
Guest guest
Thanks Gail. Unfortunately, my mother in law took the whole antiobiotic routine for her shingles. She says she is in good health, but having suffered from cataracts, colon cancer, problems with her tear ducts, and now some sciatic nerve pain, I don't think she really knows what good health is yet. Obviously she has some immune system issues. She trusts fully in the medical doctors, did the whole chemo route and all. I will forward this info on to her and maybe she will listen to me one day yet! By the way, how long did it take for your husbands shingles to heal? Guest guest
Noelene, What is the doctor going to do for your daughter? It's interesting about shingles/chickenpox. We should do a poll and see how many of us say that. My doctors have never asked me about shingles, I forgot to tell them, and it wasn't on the HUGE questionnaire that I had to fill out prior to diagnosis. Guest guest
Hi All My RN says to take the same precautions you would with the pox if there are vesicles present. There is a very effective Rx if given within 12 to 24 hrs of onset. Have seen many in the early stage on the rib heads showing an erathema and subluxated ribs ( 2 or 3 ). ADJUST and refer to MD immediately. The MD is usually surprised at the referral! DrBob W. Pfeiffer,D.C.;D,A.B.C.O. P. O. Box 606 Pendleton, Or. 97801 Re: Shingles Steve, The infective agent is the varicella-zoster virus, the little beast that causes chickenpox, and lays dormant in a nerve only to go active again by some trigger that I don't know. It maybe stress or trauma, or? But it seems reasonable that when the " pox " develop over the nerve root, viable virus' would be present. So caution is warranted. Guest guest
yea, unscented roll-on deodorant applied to the lesions in the vesicle stage helps keep them dry. Once they crust and dry, you're in good shape--except for the pain and discomfort. But that helps reduce problems: oozing, 2ndry infections, comfort. Guest guest
Acetone, (nail polish remover), in the vesicle stage will clear up the lesions. Many times it will also kill the virus. Apply until dry and crusted. Realize that there are potential side effects. You will, however, be utilizing a very small dosage/ absorbtion. Guest guest
Listers, I forward this from the Measure 27 group for your consideration. Terry Petty ************************* From: " Don McCanne " <don@...> Date: Wed, 17 Jul 2002 08:46:56 -0700 Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured July 2002 Underinsured in America: Is Health Coverage Adequate? Though health insurance is one of the most important factors in assuring access to health care, gaps in coverage can create access problems even among the insured. Thirty-eight percent of insured individuals report that they or their families experienced at least one problem accessing medical services in the past year. Nearly one-fifth (18%) report that they postponed seeking medical care, 15% had a problem paying medical bills, 10% did not get a prescription drug they felt they needed, 8% were contacted by a collection agency about a medical bill, and 6% didn't get care they felt they needed. Many of these problems arise because some individuals' health plans do not cover all the services they need. In other cases, individuals cannot afford the cost sharing associated with covered benefits. While the uninsured are most at risk, researchers estimate that about a fifth of insured individuals are underinsured and face limits on coverage or substantial financial costs if faced with an illness. Given the recent increase in health care costs, it is likely that this problem will escalate in coming years. http://www.kaisernetwork.org/health_cast/uploaded_files/4060.pdf Comment: Current trends in health insurance include defined contributions, greater price sensitivity through cost sharing, splitting risk pools into individual accounts, introduction of Spartan " basic " benefit plans, greater tiering of insurance options, and other measures that are moving away from the traditional role of assuring financial security through risk pooling. Why this shift? These policies are designed to protect employers against increased costs. Yet employers pay only about 19% of the nation's health care bill. These policies are designed to reduce risk for the insurance companies, assuring the financial security of this industry, at the cost of the financial security of patients. They are designed to support the views of those that are ideologically opposed to a government role in issues of social justice. Do we really want to expand policies that protect an insurance industry noted for egregiously wasting our health care resources? Do we really want to continue to rely on employer " good will " to struggle to provide 19% of the funding of our health care system, when we have the capability of relieving them of this burden? Do we really want to cater to ideological elements that believe that funding through a tax system is more evil than funding through the private sector, even when it has been demonstrated that public funding provides greater value for health care dollars? We already have more than enough resources to provide comprehensive health care benefits for everyone. Isn't it time to establish policies that would enable us to utilize our resources much more effectively? We can continue with our existing private and public health care delivery system, but we desperately need a single risk pool that is publicly funded and publicly administered. Guest guest
Gee, Folks whatever happened to the aspect of individual responsibility. Why is it my responsibility to see that Jake has his health care needs met? Why is it not Jake's responsibility? The last time I checked you could make enough money working a saturday at Mc's and earn enough to buy health insurance. Guest guest
Sounds Horrible. I have had many skin lesions and sores and rashes since becoming sick nearly 5 years ago. I have been misdiagnosed with shingles twice, scabies once, ....oh yeah...and chicken pox a couple of times. I don't think I ever really had shingles though. Thank God. Now I have moved on to foliculitis, which is supposedly due to having a suppressed immune system and anything that gets into my pores causes infection (staph). Pretty nasty lesions. Some get as big as a golf ball before the cyst will rupture on its own...otherwise it is off to be lanced and drained. Yuck.... But that is a whole other topic. And one I don't want to think about before breakfast. Sorry if I grossed you out. Hope your shingles get better. Stay healthy

One time, years ago I had a sinus thing and was sitting in the GP's office and the walls are paper thin of course and I could that this woman and her husband were there and she had shingles and was just in a terrible state of pain, finally the Dr. became quite concerned and hospitalized her, basically he became so concerned that the pain would overwhelm her and she would hurt herself......... So I know how overwhelming the pain can be! Beth
