Guest guest
Valtrex is a prescription anti-viral. It didn't so a thing for my father until he started taking the lysine. Stress is a huge trigger for shingles and you definitely have a lot of stress in your life, Sondra.

Guest guest
Sondra, I too have fibromyaglia and just so many other issues and have a history of abuse. I am curious as to this information. Is there a online source or book where i can read about this? I know many men who have been abused but most men are not forthcoming with this info so how could anyone know if it is an abuse thing for men too. Somehow the word martyrdom comes to me when i think about fibromyaglia. Its about trying so hard and going past the normal point when others would give up, doing too much, giving too much, a caregivers disease. what do you think? Guest guest
I know valtrex but don't know how effective it is with shingles, I've not researched it that much. It can help suppress some viruses in the herpes family. It seems that people need to be re-exposed to chickenpox thru the years in order to keep their immunity and also not get shingles. But, is your 12 yo going through any kind of stress or immune system problems? That is another reason shingles shows up. I most recommend seeing a quality Chinese Medicine/acupuncture practitioner. That will help turn it around pretty fast. My dad and my partner's mom both had fast success seeing acupuncturists. Where do you live? Guest guest
was she vaccinated at all? I don't know anyone in LV Is important to get someone who is the best OMD is certainly a good degree I found this one http://web.mac.com/elabastida/Dr_Sharon_Roth_OMD/About_Oriental_Medicine.html and she went to an excellent school I know in San Diego, I see from her CV Her prices look pretty normal but " Uncomplicated, reduced time appointments (1 hour) $75 " is probably what would cover it http://acupuncturists.healthprofs.com/cam/name/Sharon_Roth_LAc,MTOM,OMD_Las+Vega\ s_Nevada_513624 Here are some others http://acupuncturists.healthprofs.com/cam/state/NV/Las+Vegas.html Jordan - doesn't have a webpage that I can find Fiona Kelley - does have a webpage http://www.acupuncturelasvegas.com/ Phone and talk to each one and see what you think. ask if they have ever treated someone with shingles Sheri At 07:56 PM 11/30/2009, you wrote: >Sheri, > >Thank you for responding. If not, can you please show me documentation that shows that shingles is not contagious to others who have had chickenpox. I have family that is determined to be vaccinated for shingles because they know so many people who suffer from shingles and they don't want to get it. Also, is the shingles vaccine the same as the chicken pox vaccine only it is made for adults? Finally, can children who are not vaccinated, and who have not had chickenpox yet, catch chickenpox from someone who has been recently vaccinated for shingles? Thanks, beth You can catch chickenpox from shingles, if you have never had before or had a very mild case But you cannot catch shingles from shingles nor can you catch shingles from chickenpox But many get chickenpox from the shingles vaccines http://www.herpes.org.uk/shingles/ Are both made of a strain of live, weakened varicella zoster virus. chickenpox vax package insert http://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/v/varivax/varivax_pi.pdf shingles package insert http://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/z/zostavax/zostavax_pi.pdf so we are now seeing chickenpox in children after exposure to someone who got the shingles vaccine http://www.whale.to/a/ata.html shingles from those vaccinated with chickenpox vaccine http://www.drgoldmanonline.com/R0013.pdf The facts remain as published in a study by W. Yih and others (including the CDC) - the incidence of adult shingles has increased by 90 percent from 1998 to 2003, during a time when chickenpox vaccination coverage has increased. http://www.prleap.com/pr/13991/ CHICKEN POX VACCINE ASSOCIATED WITH SHINGLES EPIDEMIC http://www.vran.org/vaccines/cpox/shingles-threat.htm Sheri Nakken, R.N., MA, Hahnemannian Homeopath Vaccination Information & Choice Network, Washington State, USA Vaccines - http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/vaccine.htm or http://www.wellwithin1.com/vaccine.htm Vaccine Dangers, Childhood Disease Classes & Homeopathy Online/email courses - next classes start December 2 & 3 http://www.wellwithin1.com/vaccineclass.htm or http://www.wellwithin1.com/homeo.htm
Guest guest
I believe this has been answered already but would like to point out one thing. You asked if can children who are not vaccinated, and who have not had chickenpox yet, can catch chickenpox from someone who has been recently vaccinated for shingles. It is very important to keep in mind that being vaccinated or not, you are equally at risk for getting the disease (perhaps more so because vaxed kids have stressed immune systems). This is because, even if you believe vaccines work--and I don't believe they do--they are not guaranteed to. Worse, the CP vax is notorious for being a failure. That's why a booster was introduced after several years. Many vaxed preschoolers were getting CP, so it was decided a second one was needed. Moral of the story: do not distinguish between vaxed and non-vaxed when considering susceptibility for disease, except that non-vaxed are probably less susceptible. It took me years to get this through my head. I was only worried about safety problems when I quit vaccinating my children, but always thought I was trading off the "protection" from vaccines. When I finally realized that they didn't even work, I became really angry that I had risked my children's health and lives for nothing.
