Guest guest
Hi, My pro-vac., R.N. mom is about to get the shingles vac. Any suggestions on sources documenting adverse affects to those who get the vac.? Me telling her to look into it more before getting it was no help at all. I'd like to send her something more concrete, but I haven't found it yet. I could tell her she is risking giving chicken pox to her grandkids... (but natural immunity wouldn't be a bad thing from my view!!!) Thank you, > >Can you catch shingles from another who has shingles? Guest guest
My first thought is to check VAERS: (http://vaers.hhs.gov/index). But you could also point out to her that every vaccine carries the risk of death and none are guaranteed to work. I doubt it will make a difference but it's worth a try. Guest guest
Hi Amy Getting shingles is a sign, usually, of a weakened immune system. Each time you had them were they suppressed with drugs such as cortisone, etc? Can you see an acupuncturist or quality homeopath for a final cure? Sheri At 07:46 AM 10/23/2010, you wrote: >I have had shingles 3 times- once as a teen, twice in my 30's. >Where the heck is it coming from/! >Amy > > > >------------------------------------ > >
Guest guest
The last time I had it, I went to the chiropractor. It went away on it's own with nothing. What would you recommend to strengthen the immune system? Now I have psoriasis, that came out of no where! I am doing nothing except putting coconut oil on it, but it continues....I do not get sick often, but I guess the skin stuff is the body's ways of sayng something's not right. Guest guest
I understand They can say anything they want and people will believe it! I'm so sorry If your mom wants treatment to cure, she should see an excellent Chinese Medicine Practitioner and uses acupuncture as part of their treatment (mostly trying to get at this - don't just choose an acupuncturist who hasn't had the full range of training). Sheri At 08:02 AM 11/12/2011, you wrote: My mother informed me she has shingles but got the shingles vaccine. I told her they aren't effective and that was why she could still get it. How does the medical community think they can have their cake and eat it too??? It was a FAILED vaccine!! Why can't they admit that? How can they say it is a milder case when in fact, they don't know? For all we know, the vaccine could have been enough stress to the body in itself that is may have CAUSED the shingles! So they can make assumptions like that, yet can't conceive the idea of the causal relationship between vaccines and injury. Guest guest
I hear you...it feels like a never-ending battle! my mother just came from my home state to stay with me for 10 days, and while she was here, she informed me casually in conversation that she just got her flu shot. I couldn't believe it, after all the conversations I've had with her over the dangers of vaccinations and inefficacy. She never said that much, but seemed to share my distrust of doctors and medicine. I asked why she would get a flu shot, and she said she was there for something else, and the nurse said "you might as well just get your flu shot while you're here." and so she did. I wonder if my sister the retired nurse gives her info that's just the opposite of what I do...it's just plain annoying... shingles My mother informed me she has shingles but got the shingles vaccine. Guest guest
I wonder about shingles...what percentage of shingles cases are very serious or severe? I've had chicken pox as well as shingles. The patch was on my shoulder blade and about the size of a quarter. It lasted about a week and a half and while it was sore and bruised feeling it went away with no scaring or residual pain. That was a year ago and haven't had anything since. Now I've been in homeopathic treatment for about 5 years and the shingles were also treated in this way. So its possible and indeed likely an event that was drawn out of me via treatment as I'm only 30...but still wondering the truth about shingles and its severity. Guest guest
I had it on my leg years ago. Take lots of the amino acid L Lysine and I used Domboro (sp), it's a soft pad soaked in a solution that is supposed to relieve the symptoms. Apply it directly on the area. I also suspended eating chocolate..something to do with the production of arginine as contra-indicated. This is all from memory but i'm sure there is someone on here that can weigh in on the science. Good luck.On Mar 4, 2012, at 9:48 AM, brent gardner wrote: i am 67 had hiv for 23 years always undetectable 500 plus t cells but now have shingles around waist. i was wondering will this hurt my t cell count and and what i should do for this, i am on acylovir for shingles and lortab and ibubropen . anyone who can give me advice would be so thankfull
