Wow. Jeanne, thank you so much for sharing this. I did start stumbling on salivary gland info but didn't continue my research. It does say in Iodoral instructions to notify the doc if one is having excess salvation, which I do have on and off. I didn't take my iodine today and feel much less tightness in my throat. Please Help!Date: Wed, Mar 21, 2012 12:06 am It has been quite some time now and I no longer have allof the emails or research I did on this. But, yes Ihad symptoms very similar to what you are describing. At the time, I read a study which indicated that theiodine was having an impact on some of the participants'salivary glands and they stopped using it because of that. There was no cough. but I did have a gripping feeling inmy throat and under the jaw...in some ways it seemed likeswollen glands. It was very frightening to me at the time.Jeanne> > > Pregnancy takes its toll on your thyroid as the baby takes thyroid hormone from you for the first 2 tri-mesters. Guest guest
1000 mg of Vitamin C may not be enough. The required dose can vary much dependent on your level of oxidative stress. Also, it is important to take the slow-release variety. In addition, ascorbic acid is twice as effective as ascorbates (for example sodium or calcium ascorbate that moreover cause an undesirable accumulation of sodium or calcium). Recent research indicates that C-vitamin has a more powerful immunity-enhancins effect than known before. So try increasing the dose using slow release pills. Moreover, at this time of the year many people have deficiency of Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). It is described as the bodys own " antibiotic " , So be sure you get enough of it. Some believe it becomes poisonous at over 2000 IU per day. This is rubbish. When you sun-bathe for a few hours your skin produces as much as 20.000 IU or more and nobody has been poisoned by sunbathing, To get enoough vitamin D3 it is safest to take it as drops or capsules in wintertime, because in the US the UVB are filtered away by the athmosphere when the sun does not rise high up.
