Guest guest
Hi Barry,I'm sorry I am not able to assist you because I'm like you looking for help on this group. I have a few questions for you, if you don't mind because I had some bad symptoms after taking 12.5 Iodoral. My energy level, brain fog, alertness, vision, mood all improved. My insomnia got worse along with throat tightness, enlarged lymph node under my jaw and some female problems. What dosage of iodine did you start with? How did you determine to take only 1/10 of a drop of Lugol's. I'm waiting for mine and plan to start out with 1 drop hoping I don't get the throat tightness again.Thank you.AgnesSent from my iPadOn Mar 26, 2012, at 5:50 PM, "viajero8" <viajero8@...> wrote: hi group. i am the fellow who had to begin at 1/10th of a drop of lugols because i was so ill, i could not tolerate more. this journey began feb. 5th. i am now up to 2 drops of lugols a day and feeling sooo much better. i still have many symptoms, mainly muscle contractions in my face, legs, some sinus symptoms and some brain fog still. my energy is so much better. i just got my new labs back today. here are my old labs from 1-30-12: TSH: 2.63 (0.35-5.5) Free T3: 2.46 (2.3-4.2) Free T4: 0.6 L (0.8-1.7) Total Iron: 104 (65-175) TIBC: 373 (250-450) % Sat 28 (15-50) Ferritin 36 (18-323) New labs from 3-23-12: TSH: 3.44 (0.40-4.5) Free T3: 2.90 (2.3-4.2) Free T4: 1.1 (0.8-1.8) Total Iron: 142 (45-170) TIBC: 343 (250-425) % Sat 41 (20-50) Ferritin 52 (20-380) *note: i have NOT been supplementing with any iron. Guest guest
With the increase in the Free T's, I might be inclined to continue on with the iodine alone, especially with the ferritin increase also. I'd do labs again.in 6-8 weeks to see where you are are. Just keep an eye on hypo signs. Guest guest
That's great, Barry, that your levels are headed in the right direction! As far as they thyroid supplementation, I usually lean in the direction of supplementing because I know it can make a huge difference. However, your numbers have improved in such a short time that I would be giving the iodine a little more time to work and then make a decision about thyroid supplementation. Just my layman's two cents. in Alaska On Mon, Mar 26, 2012 at 1:50 PM, viajero8 <viajero8@...> wrote: Â hi group. i am the fellow who had to begin at 1/10th of a drop of lugols because i was so ill, i could not tolerate more. this journey began feb. 5th. i am now up to 2 drops of lugols a day and feeling sooo much better. i still have many symptoms, mainly muscle contractions in my face, legs, some sinus symptoms and some brain fog still. my energy is so much better. i just got my new labs back today. here are my old labs from 1-30-12: TSH: 2.63 (0.35-5.5) Free T3: 2.46 (2.3-4.2) Free T4: 0.6 L (0.8-1.7) Total Iron: 104 (65-175) TIBC: 373 (250-450) % Sat 28 (15-50) Ferritin 36 (18-323) New labs from 3-23-12: TSH: 3.44 (0.40-4.5) Free T3: 2.90 (2.3-4.2) Free T4: 1.1 (0.8-1.8) Total Iron: 142 (45-170) TIBC: 343 (250-425) % Sat 41 (20-50) Ferritin 52 (20-380) *note: i have NOT been supplementing with any iron. Guest guest
hi agnes. i had to start out so low because every time i tried to start out higher, i had terrible facial pain in my cheek bones ( i had nine sinus surgeries when i was younger, so this is my weak spot) and the fatigue just knocked me out. i could never have started out on one drop. i have had insomnia also and it gets worse when i increase, but then seems to resolve in a day or so. from what i understand, if you go too fast or start out too high (for some of us), the detox symptoms are too much for your body to handle and you crash. that has been my experience, anyway. i am now up to 2 drops a day and i had a rough time this morning (facial fullness and fatigue), but i am doing better this afternoon, however, i am seating a lot today. so, drink plenty of water, take your salt and companion nutrients, and take it slowww. as for me, i am increasing 1/2 drop per week. i have never been able to tolerate 2 drops of lugols before in my life. i think i am on the right track, finally. but it's still early in the game for me, i may have to go even slower, time will tell. i began at 1/10th of a drop on feb. 5th of this year. good luck agnes. barry > > > hi group. i am the fellow who had to begin at 1/10th of a drop of lugols because i was so ill, i could not tolerate more. this journey began feb. 5th. i am now up to 2 drops of lugols a day and feeling sooo much better. i still have many symptoms, mainly muscle contractions in my face, legs, some sinus symptoms and some brain fog still. my energy is so much better. i just got my new labs back today. here are my old labs from 1-30-12: > > TSH: 2.63 (0.35-5.5) > > Free T3: 2.46 (2.3-4.2) > > Free T4: 0.6 L (0.8-1.7) > > Total Iron: 104 (65-175) > > TIBC: 373 (250-450) > > % Sat 28 (15-50) > > Ferritin 36 (18-323) > > > > New labs from 3-23-12: > > TSH: 3.44 (0.40-4.5) > > Free T3: 2.90 (2.3-4.2) > > Free T4: 1.1 (0.8-1.8) > > Total Iron: 142 (45-170) > > TIBC: 343 (250-425) > > % Sat 41 (20-50) > > Ferritin 52 (20-380) > > *note: i have NOT been supplementing with any iron. > > > > Here are my basal temps for the last two weeks: > > 97.6 > > 97.3 > > 96.8 > > 97.2 > > 96.6 > > 97.1 > > 96.8 > > 98.8 > > 97.5 > > 97.1 > > 97.4 > > 97.0 > > 97.5 > > 97.1 > > > > So, here is my dilemma. Guest guest
Thanks so much for posting this video. I watched the segment on Progesterone. My sex binding hormone (and my daughter's as well) was always very high. Then last blood work (in the fall) it came down. Why? no idea. Listening to his explanantion I think I now know - the introduction of prescription strength progesterone! I never heard of bio-identical progesterone troches instead of cream either. That is a new one for me. Thanks again for posting this !
