Guest guest
How long was it again I was supposed to be off Iodine after DCIS surgery? Remember reading from somewhere that 2 weeks due to interaction with the healing of wounds or something? I'm a newbie here from Finland, being investigating Iodine after my diagnosis of DCIS. Haven't done any thyroid testing yet, but for sure am one of those thyroid-BC linked. Typical symtomps all my life: irregular menses, difficlt to become pregnant and now menopause at 42. I tried with Iosol for 4 weeks before my surgery and hey I was most likely VERY deficient with iodine, but it sure made me feel as a totally new person. Energetic and positive thinking. And great sleep quality as well.
Guest guest
I'm not familiar with this info, are you sure it was from this group? Guest guest
DCIS normally does not require any medical intervention. It will usually remain dormant in the body and never cause a problem. Taking mamograms however, can release it and make it problematic. Cancer seldom kills. 100 years ago most doctors recommended ignoring cancer unless it was pressing upon a vital organ or interfered with circulation. Its not the cancer that kills, its the treatments. Caveat Emptor! Carmi Hazen
Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for your anwers. I've been doing so much reading about Iodine lately, so being confused about where I read and what. But somehow had a feeling that supplementing with Iodine might interfere with wound healing... I would defenetely had gone forward with the " watch and see " approach with my DCIS but since being a single parent for twins, aged 5, I felt I just can't risk anything. Trying to find a way to prevent recurrence and finding sense of well being which Iodine has brought me in my experimenting. Need to do the thyroid labs before I proceed. Thanks guys, this is a terrific board and Iodine itself is a VERY interesting issue! > > How long was it again I was supposed to be off Iodine after DCIS surgery? Guest guest
Dr. has in the past recommended mixing Lugol's and DMSO in a one-to-one ratio and applying that to the breast where the cancer is, (or where it used to be, presumably after any surgical incision has healed). It's not only for DCIS type of BC. It's not in this group as far as I know, but you can find it elsewhere on the web. I know of no reason to stop iodine supplementation after surgery. Iodine is a necessary element for good health. Best wishes to you. > > How long was it again I was supposed to be off Iodine after DCIS surgery?
