Guest guest
Steph: In light of what you’ve said below I’m confused and have some questions. Would I be able to book a telephone consultation with you, when you have some time? Thanks, Bonnie From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf Of Buist, ND HC Sent: Friday, March 23, 2012 10:32 PM iodine Subject: Re: Could some dear soul take a look at my LABS? Ok, looking again I can see that your Free's have stayed the same but your TSH has increased and that would more than likely be iodine. But the fact remains that you would be considered hypothyroid and that has not changed - iodine or not. So you must be missing another component to heal the thyroid (if you can). The liver converts T4 to T3 so that must be healthy along with the other information I posted about supporting nutrients that may be low. Buist, ND HC Could some dear soul take a look at my LABS? Hello: I don’t have too many and I couldn’t get the Reverse T3, they never heard of it in this part of Canada. I started Lugol’s 5% in July and by the end of September 2011, I was at 50 mg. Just to give you an idea. You will see things CHANGE once I got on the Iodine. And maybe normals are different in this country so I’ve included them. Also I think the Iodine has affected my kidneys. Aug. 2011 Nov. 2011 Feb. 2012 TSH 3.35 9.44 11.23 I am not sure if this is a Canadian lab range or not. But this would be considered hypothyroid in the US (range .3 - 3.0) Free T4 (9 – 23) 13 13 11 You are looking to be midrange. Since this is metric, you would try to get to 16 for optimum levels. Free T3 (3.5 – 6.5) 4.4 4.3 Most feel best in the upper 1/3 of the range. So your goal would be at 5.5 or higher to obtain optimum results. 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D (75 – 250) 27 I am not sure how Canadian levels work - in the US you are trying to get to 50-70 but that wouldn't work in your ranges so I don't know. Creatinine (50 -98) just a guess 53 42 41 I doubt this is related to iodine. Here are reasons why creatinine changes: Reduced blood flow to the kidney due to shock, dehydration, congestive heart failure, atherosclerosis, or complications of diabetes Ferritin don’t know 87 In the use you are trying to get to 50-60 - so I don't know what the ranges are for Canada.
