I had my antibodies checked also and they are low, I eat gluten free and between that and the iodine my antibodies went down. My doctor has me on T4 only and all my numbers look right, however I feel lousy and have hypo symptoms. I had the test taken because I would feel better for a short while when my meds were raised and then feel bad again. I felt there had to be something going on. That is why I had my hormone levels as well at the RT3 tested. I felt this was the only way to get my treatment changed. When I take this information to her we will see what happens. If you are not having a problem with your treatment protocol, then it is up to you. Lora PriceND Hi Lora:I wonder how important it would be for me to get the RT3 done? Isn't thattest for people with auto-immune Thyroiditis?Bonnie_____ From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf OfLora PriceSent: Saturday, March 24, 2012 11:09 PMiodine Subject: Re: Could some dear soul take a look at my LABS?Also a really great site that helped me washttp://nahypothyroidism.org/thyroid-hormone-transport/ Also for ; both Directlabs and HealthCheckUSA use Labcorp to collectspecimens. Lora Price248-399-9014Berkley, MIBonnie,My Endocrinologist would not take a reverse T3 test either, so I broke downand paid to have the test taken myself. My rT3 was off the charts but all myother numbers were " normal " although I was reading in one of my articlesthat it is the ratio that counts. On Stop the thyroid madness website theyhave a ratio calculator for your Ft3 to rT3 ratio. I also found some otherinformation on it at www.thyroid-rt3.com/whatare1.htm andhttp://tiredthyroid.com/rt3.html These both helped me understand why aftermy doctor raises my meds I start feeling ok in 6 weeks, then 6 weeks later Istart crashing again. Problem is there are several causes of rT3, liver, adrenal, enzymes, etc, and the treatment needs to be based on the cause, which isn't easy to figure out. Lora Price ND248-399-9014Berkley, MIHello:I don't have too many and I couldn't get the Reverse T3, they never heard ofit in this part of Canada.I started Lugol's 5% in July and by the end of September 2011, I was at 50mg. Just to give you an idea. You will see things CHANGE once I got on theIodine. And maybe normals are different in this country so I've includedthem. Also I think the Iodine has affected my kidneys.Aug. 2011Nov. 2011 Feb. 2012TSH 3.359.44 11.23Free T4 (9 - 23) 1313 11Free T3 (3.5 - 6.5) 4.44.3 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D (75 - 250)27Creatinine (50 -98) just a guess 5342 41Ferritin don't know87Thanks a Lot,Bonnie
