Guest guest
Steph, now you have answered my question that I was looking for. I thought having this elevated TSH for MORE than 6 months was a problem and I should be trying to get it back down by lowering my dose. So I will just ignore it then. I guess I didn’t realize that the TSH is what would RAISE the Free T’s and I’ve read all the material I was sent. I’ve read all of Dr. B’s books and I don’t remember reading that I could improve the T’s with a higher TSH. Sorry to drive you crazy my dear and thanks. Why worry that only a few have increases in TSH? If you go back to the guide you will see that it is NORMAL for this to happen. So why did you bring your Iodine dose down? If it were me I would continue to push it to see if I could improve the Free's. Also, you have seen the nutrients that help to support the thyroid - because I sent you to them a few days ago. I think you need to figure out what your health goals are and then set out a plan of attack. I understand fear and wondering if you are on the right track with what you are doing. I was fighting cancer and had 2 children ages 3 yrs & 5 yrs. I was told by my endo that if I didn't do things his way I would die. That is terrifying. But I had to put those fears aside because they are damaging to your body too. Do the right things and your body will heal. Maybe you will need to take thyroid medication because there is too much damage (how much more damaged can you get than having a thyroid removed like I have had) but the rest of your body is an amazing thing. Three things are key: Food / Nutrients Detoxification Mental Attitude You can overcome a lot with these three things. Buist, ND HC What do I do now please? Hello: I started Iodine in July and right away the TSH started rising which I thought was normal and that within about 6 months, it would go down. Steph says that MOST don’t rise. So what do I do now? I was taking 100 mg. of Iodone and now have dropped back to 50 mg. That decrease should make the TSH go back down. Is that idea? Steph’s words are in blue below. I just don’t know where to go from here. Is it important now to get the TSH back down? Aug. 2011 Nov. 2011 Feb. 2012 TSH 3.35 9.44 11.23 Free T4 (9 – 23) 13 13 11 Free T3 (3.5 – 6.5) 4.4 4.3 Ok, looking again I can see that your Free's have stayed the same but your TSH has increased and that would more than likely be iodine.
