Hi Betty:

I don’t

know if I already wrote to you but I had the most awful GI problems for almost

10 years before getting diagnosed last June with NO MOTILITY (Gastroparesis)

and so because nothing was moving, I had a lot of Nausea, bacteria overgrown

and not able to sleep because of all that.

I just didn’t

like eating anymore.  I was so sick.  So I got myself some Lugol’s 5% and

started off with 1 drop per day for 1 week, then 2 drops per day for the 2nd

week, then 3 drops per day for the 3rd week and that is when I

started to notice some improvement. By the 8th week (and at 8 drops)

I was very happy.

No more nausea,

no more bloating – I now feel normal for once.

Write with any

questions.

Bonnie

Agnes,

Since you seem to have experienced the same intestinal problems, I am

wondering, what form of iodine worked for you? Which form were you able to

tolerate? If it was lugols, was it 2% or 5%. I am debating which way to go

here. I don't know of anyone, except for those of us here in this group, that

are knowledgeable about iodine therapy. What level did you get to in your

iodine use? You previously mentioned an array of other symptoms. Are these

related to being hypo or associated with the iodine use?

essential to help your body process correctly. You may need to do some other

things to help your bowels get working better †" extra vit C and

magnesium may help. Make sure you are using the daily salt and try salt loading

also.

1/2 iodoral tab. It made my stomach bloat. I decided to try the ashwagandha to

strengthen my adrenals first. I was taking 2/day for about 3 weeks and my

bowels were so sluggish, I once again am bloated, even after backing off to

1/day. I am not overweight. I usuallly weigh about 125 lbs but have gained a

few pounds with this endeavor. I have decided that if I am going to be able to

use the iodine at all I will try the liquid Lugols starting at the very lowest

dose possible to see if my bowels can handle it. I need to know if I should try

the 2% or the 5% . Any advice would be welcome. I do want my hypothyroid to be

treated with the iodine. I do have the supplements mentioned. I did use them

with the initial try. Thank you very much.
