Guest guest
Hello. Thanks you both for taking the time to reply, your help is very much appreciated. I'm sorry it's taken this long to reply but I've been scraping myself together to get through Christmas. Much of which was spent being so fatigued I could barely function. I have been trying to compile some of my most recent results from doctors and I'd be grateful for any insights. I've been lucky to have had many tests done over the last 12 months in an attempt to work out why I feel like this. As you suggested I have reduced the T4 to 50mg, but then i also ended up dropping the T3 completely for the time being as it seems to triggered more fatigue. You are absolutely right on two (maybe more) of the associated problems you mentioned. After hounding doctors and drawing so many blanks having people like yourselves connect the dots is such a relief! I had come to the conclusion I was mercury toxic earlier this year whist trying to solve a myriad of symptoms that initially thought were just candida related. I then had 13 fillings removed in the summer. Since then I have been desperately trying to chelate following Andy Cutlers protocol but the additional fatigue from chelating kicks me so badly that I've managed only a few rounds of DMSA at tiny doses. These are my results whilst taking 75mg T4 (I'm not sure what may be relevant): freeT4 15.0 (9-21) total T3 1.5 (0.9-2.4) -this result was prior to the others, approx 6 months ago TSH 1.2 (.2-4.5) positive for thyroid antibodies Iron 16.2 (15-200) B12 1300 (210-2000) ESR 26 (3-15) sodium 140 (135-145) potassium 4.5 (3-6.5) HBA1C 7.6 (4-6) I have type 1 diabetes bilirubin 5 (3-21) alt 10 (10-50) urea 2.1 (2.5-6.6) creatine 66 (60-120) oestradiol 201(75-140) Progesterone 9.3(?) LH 10.5 (2-9) FSH 8.4 (3-10) early follicular phase Short synacthan test. This was a nightmare, it took 3 nurses 5 attempts to get the 1st blood draw and 2 attempts on the 2nd The test was also done on one of my better days. base line 253 stimulated 548 My endo said this was good, that my hormones are not a problem and do not account for the level of fatigue I get. I was wondering if I should try and get a serum cortisol test done while I feel so awful before my next endo visit? Are there any further tests you think I should try and get done? I'm sure I'm having adrenal issues, possibly more so than thyroid but my endo say not. Thanks so much for helping, > > Hi , > > What you've just described are classic symptoms of adrenal fatigue - nausea and fatigue and dizziness would be the top three common give away symptoms of adrenal fatigue. > moderated to remove older messages*****************
Guest guest
Hi , I did not get on at all with DMSA – it made me have uncontrollable flare-ups, which were weird & just as quickly over. Now you could just try ALA instead (I know you could do it as well, but I am thinking that this may suit you more). I got on well with ALA and got up to 35mg/mcg whichever it was every 3 hours day & night for several days at a time (usually about 5 days). I did not feel as good if trying to go 4 hours at night so stuck to 3 hourly. I think I started at about 12.5 per dose. Val I then had 13 fillings removed in the summer. Guest guest
Hi Val, I think I also do not get on well with DMSA. I have been doing rounds at 3mg and even at such low doses it still wipes me out and gives me big yeast issues. A lot of people do seem to get on better with ALA and are able to increase the dosage far in excess of DMSA. How long did you take DMSA before trying ALA? I think I must still have a lot of HG still in my blood so I think I'm stuck with DMSA til I can make some headway with that first Thanks > > Hi , > > I did not get on at all with DMSA †" it made me have uncontrollable flare-ups, which were weird & just as quickly over. Guest guest
Hi , I started with ALA and only added DMSA later – I have had emails with Andy Cutler and he confirmed that ALA only is fine. I can’t remember how many rounds I included DMSA, just recall the bad memory of how I felt with uncontrollable flare-ups. One example is that I was at a golf driving range & expected to see my husband at my car afterwards – he was not there and I flared up (Can’t remember what I said but luckily no-one was around) – it was ridiculous. I then felt shocked & when I husband appeared a few minutes later I felt horrible – the anger luckily had gone but I felt frightened at what had just happened to me, which I did not understand. Val How long did you take DMSA before trying ALA?
