Guest guest
Pippa, considering how well you are doing on Nature Throid and your doctor can see this, why is he not prescribing this for you? Show him the attached letter and two emails I received from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) who are happy for NHS doctors to prescribe unlicensed medication when the licensed levothyroxine does not give their patients back their optimal health. Luv - Sheila Just in case it helps anyone who is worried about supplies of stuff - I have done very well on Nutri Adrenal Extra and Nutri Thyroid since seeing Dr P in February 2011. I had FINALLY been diagnosed by my doctor who clearly disregarded the signs for some years. My T4 has been within " normal " range BUT my TSH was 7.6 (0.35 - 4.94) in 2004 - rocketing to 15.1 (0.35 - 4.94) last Feb!!!!! Doc was horrified that I hadn't been taking the thyroxine when I saw him on another matter in September - but when he called about the blood test results a week later - he told me to carry on whatever I was doing. TSH was down to 1.2 (0.35 - 4.94)then and I had requested T3 and vitamin tests as per this wonderful Group. He also suggested I might want to add Vit D - although mine wasn't low enough for him to do anything about! That seems to have further boosted energy and happiness. Although I am not sure I am taking enough. I take mine at lunchtime as there seem to be so many things to take first thing! 1 of 1 File(s) MHRA confirmation re Natur1.doc
Guest guest
Thank you Sheila I hadn't even considered that I could ask him for Nutri Thyroid! How does that work? We have a Boots here or the Surgery Pharmacy - can they get it for me? Guest guest
Oh dear Pippa - full apologies. Must be suffering brain drain after the New Year Celebrations last night. I was thinking of Nature Throid, not Nutri Thyroid. No, unfortunately, you cannot get Nutri Thyroid on the NHS, it is a thyroid supplement only supplied by Nutri Ltd. Sorry for giving you such hope. I am amazed that you are doing so well just with supplements without any thyroid hormone replacement at all Pippa - and long may it last. Guest guest
No worries Sheila - very close names those! My original post was to try and demonstrate that maybe not everyone needs to search overseas for what might help. While Nutri Thyroid states it is " hormone free " it does have bovine " Thyroid glanduluar " sourced in New Zealand. Possibly better for me to be hormone free with my mother dying young from Breast Cancer? I need to review with Dr P anyway. Pippa > > Oh dear Pippa - full apologies.
