Guest guest
Hi, have had hashimotos diagnosis since 2005, taking 100mcg levothyroxine. I was diagnosed with the menopause at 41, that came on very suddenly, and I was taking hot flushes every hour, I'm not joking. I was so exhausted and fed up, put on a lot of weight, that I requested HRT, I have tried a lot of different, in fact my GP tried everything, she was really patient with me. I got a UTI, in 2010, and was really ill with the antibiotics etc, was off work for 4 weeks. I asked could I be sent to a HRT specialist, and when she looked at my blood test results, and seen how many HRT tablets I had tried, she said, and I quote here, because I was suprised. If this doesn't work I think it is your thyroid...... She put me on a double dose gel to be rubbed in, and then inserted a Mirena Coil. From it was inserted I have been off work and through hell, with anxiety and depression. I am getting the coil out tomorrow, hopefully. But I wanted to investigate the hot flushes and early menopause symtoms with the thyroid group. Ring any bells with anyone. Going to raise the issue with my GP.
