HI Sheila

Is this good or bad. Have just received my FREE T3 result 4.89 normal range

3.1-6.8 pmol/L.

Does this mean that I can increase T3 a little bit more, as my GP as you know

wanted me to take 50mcg of T4, but on only taking 25mcg for a couple of days it

makes my BP go up. On the 9th March 2011 my FREE T3 was 3.45.

I would need to know whether you took your T3 on the morning you

had your blood drawn Kathleen. If you did, then this shows you need an increase

in your T3 as it should be at least in the upper third of the reference range.

If you stopped it the day before you had your blood drawn, then this is fine.

It is best to increase T3 by 12.5 mcgs (or 20mcgs depending on what brand you

are taking) every 2 to 3 weeks until you find the dose where your symptoms

disappear.

HI SHEILA

I did what you told me " not to take T3 on the morning of my blood test " . The

last one I took was 12 1/2 mcg at 6.00 pm the day before my blood test.

I did not feel very good leaving it off either, as my heart felt those

palpitations, so was shaky. I did not even take T4, as I have only taken T4 the

last two days and the result is that it raises my BP, so I told the surgery that

high BP would not help my kidneys and that I value them.

I cannot understand you getting palpitations because you stopped

taking the 12.5mcgs T3 the day before your blood test Kathleen, it is usually

the other way round. If you take extra T3 and your body doesn't need it, you

are likely to get palpitation and be shaky. T4 has a long half life, and can

take up to 6 weeks for the T4 to get properly into the system, so I wonder if

it is something else that is causing your BP to rise. I cannot believe that it would

be T4 as you only took that for a couple of days. BP can rise and lower at

different times throughout the day, and also, depends on what activity we have

been involved in at the time it was taken + emotional stress plays its part

too.

HI SHEILA

First it was 25mcg which I normally take in the mornings that I had to go

without. I then take another 25mcg T3 between 12-1.00 PM.Then I take half a

tablet at about 6.00pm,and I have been taking T4 at 25mcg when I go to bed.

I have not been rushing around doing anything in the home as I have in the past.

I am somewhat angered at the damage done when I was sterilized quite a while

back that I reported at the time, and the specialist simply walked out saying

that he was not a bowel specialist. I continued to have a worsening of problems

and had to go back in two years later. I had changed surgery just before I went

into hospital.

I was not informed of the cystorectocele which was not reported when I was

sterilized, so damage was done during surgery.

The report that went to that GP is one of the records missing from my GP records

along with details on my lungs from my childhood GP.

This GP struck me off his list for asking for a second opinion on my kidneys. It

is unlikely that I would not have had I been told the truth.

I do have a copy of this report which I had a job obtaining from the hospital

concerned.

I now have grounds to re-open that complaint and the missing records come under

THE DATA PROTECTION ACT.

What would I give to have the three Trusts concerned in a courtroom with you

there beside me.

My BP tends to go up in the morning, with the pulse dropping. Evenings the pulse

rises and the BP is lower.

An example last night after a restful day 155/76 pulse 92 manual pulse 88 temp

36.7.

This morning after a restful night 160/92 pulse 76 manual pulse 72 temp 36.1.

Would Potassium help or was there too much potassium in that rich fruit I had

the other day.

Could palpitations be caused by not having enough fluid inside me before going

out in the morning.

My BP on Friday when I left off the T3 to have blood test done was 164/86 pulse

79 manual pulse 80 temp 36.5. Friday PM 144/72 pulse 84 manual pulse 88 temp

36.1.

Helen

I am glad I have come across somebody who has the same experience.

I wonder what would happen if we had to have surgery, and had to miss our T3.I

did feel better when I was able to take my T3 after the blood test. Not sure if

you are taking T4 or T3, but T3 acts faster than T4, so surely you would notice

a difference in missing a dose of T3 quicker than you would with T4.
