Guest guest
Hi all, happy new year... Due to sever and constant hot flushes and stress I have finally had to resort to HRT. I didn't want to take normal HRT so persuaded GP to prescribe bio identical. Am on the lowest dose of sandrena oestradio gel 0.5 a day and cyclogest natural progesterone 400mg pessaries. already after 12 days my flushes have gone from at leaset 20 in 24 hrs to only 3 a day and it's such a relief! I am on 2 and a half grains of ERFA and 4 NAE a day. My question is...I know that oestrogen interferes with thyroid hormone so do i need to apply the gel away from taking ERFA and if so how many hours, or because it's transdermal and ERFA is sublingual can i apply gel and take ERFA at same time? thanks fliss
Guest guest
Hi Fliss, Are you in the UK? I was put on HRT about a year ago and I do feel better but I am on Kliofeme which isn't bioidentical. Guest guest
I would have thought that you could take them at the same time if that was the most convenient. Erfa thyroid is designed to be taken sublingually, so this gets directly absorbed into the blood stream bypassing the stomach, and taking the oestrogen transdermally should be OK, but not 100% positive, so if somebody knows otherwise Fliss, hopefully, they will come along to put me right.
