Guest guest
ALL DISCUSSIONS ABOUT STWEETENERS ARE OFF TOPIC PLEASE CONTINUE ON CHAT FORUM. MODERATOR Thanks for the information! I saw an advert for something I realised was a stevia based sweetener on TV last night, and thought " Ooh, I'll have to look into that! " - Now I know the ingredients list is of special interest... /Sofia > > > Hi, > I have been using Stevia to sweeten my tea and other stuff since I read about it on here sometime last year and I know that some of you use it on the hCG diet. > I have had to buy it off the internet but noted that it is starting to be advertised over here and Tesco now sell it. > Until I read the ingred - they are still adding 'sweetener' and maltodextrin to it - as opposed to the much purer stuff which only has inulin fibre or another has ethritol. > Typically, the very things that we try to avoid are added to and messed up by other unecessary ingredients. The thing with Stevia is that it was supposed to be as near unadulterated plant extract instead of artificial sweetener. > Oh well - rant over. > Not sure this should go on this bit so apols if not. > Stacey >
Guest guest
Hi there, yes I have ordered and used this product which i bought from the Internet. i myself don`t like it very much as it has a funny after taste.i have bought some Xylitol from Salisbury's my local store. it is as good as sugar without the problems of sugar. i had to use something as i have candida and can not take sugar, as it feeds the candida and caused me to be giddy with funny head. apparently it is the release of toxins by the candida that is the cause of this. oh well we do get in a mess some times. Guest guest
Is Splenda any good for this or does it also feed the candida? Guest guest
Hi, this is not recommended as it has ingredients which are not good for us. angel.
Guest guest
> Hi, this is not recommended as it has ingredients which are not good for us. angel. Do you mean stevia, or Splenda? I use stevia and I like it. I tried the brown powder first, just dried ground leaf, I think it is. It has a slightly over-powering flavour, a little 'cool' and licorice-ish. I now use the liquid extract (contains stevia extract, vegetable glycerin, and water - that's it). I buy it in the USA, though. I wonder if it will now be available here in the UK? My American in-laws don't like it because 'it isn't sweet enough', so if you like things very sweet, the flavour apparently does come through. I only like things a bit sweet, though. 2 drops of the liquid in my cocoa does just fine.
Guest guest
If you are talking about Splenda, that would be the chlorine then? Not good for anyone, I would say. http://www.westonaprice.org/modern-foods/sugar-free-blues Miriam > > Hi, this is not recommended as it has ingredients which are not good for us. angel. >
